Between LO getting his vaccines today, and missing a nap because of it I am emotionally and physically exhausted. Anyone else have challenging check up day?
We had our vaccination day Thursday, and of course it was scheduled during her midday nap. She handled the shots okay, but we're only now getting back to something resembling her previous sleeping routine.

Two kids having to get vaccines sounds pretty challenging. My 4yr. old and I stepped out of the room while LO received his shots with DH in there. That was at noon. Now after screaming after his 3:30 nap, he has a 101 degree fever! My first never got fevers with them, but we had spaced out his vaccines. We didn't do that this time. What's worse, multiple shots spread out to each month, or fever?
@allipoop The rotavirus vaccine is oral. We did a combo shot with 3 vaccines in it, and skipped the Hep B for a month. He also had a second shot, but I can't remember the vaccine because I am a stressed Mama right now.
ETA: Lots of edits. Messed up tag
Ugh,I have been dreading this! Tomorrow is my LO's 2 month appt. I've been dreading the vaccines but also want him protected. Hope my little guy is ok.
Thanks for the replies ladies. I'm so not looking forward to it. I almost died when she had the PKU heel stick. It felt like 10 minutes that she had to lay on that table and scream.

DS1 had them spaced out because we were in the NICU for so long after birth. He never had fevers, but was REALLY sleepy afterward.
DS2 had them all according to schedule, and he never had fevers either. He was very sleepy as well.
I really think it's a child-by-child thing. Or, it could be a factor of which shots are being given in conjunction with each other. So, the combo of 2 month shots made LO feverish, but 6 month shots won't... If that makes any sense?
@JaysonandKristin Yes, that does make sense. I sincerely hope that is the case. Watching my 2 month old with a fever is hellish. Good luck to all your babies with vaccines tomorrow.
We just did then today. It's been a rough afternoon. My cousin is in town and she is helping out which has really helped. Poor guy. I just want to cuddle him but his poor legs are sore.
Did not mean to flag you! I loved it so I hope that fixes it!
We have pertussis here as well, so I feel better about getting that vaccine yesterday. Poor guy still has a fever. Now I wish I would have spaced out the vaccines a little bit like I did with my older son. We also have the H1N1 virus going around my county. So I haven't really taken LO anywhere yet, except to dinner one evening.
ETA: my LO had to be laid on the bed. I think they all do for shots because it is easier to hold them still. @kellykinns You are lucky. I have never been able to, and was told they couldn't be held.
Does anyone that had their vaccines already use a Rock n Play for sleep? I'm wondering if it will hurt his little thighs because of the high sides.
She didn't seem too bothered; I was more worried about putting on her diapers, but those were okay too. The main side effect was that she was sleepy and seemed a little warm (though her temp was normal when I took it). Our ped recommended giving her infant Tylenol as soon as we got home.
(I will say, the Tylenol dosing directions were challenging, especially since I'm paranoid about overdosing her with it. It depends on weight, and the particular formulation of the medicine. It might be helpful to bring the medicine with you to the ped to have the proper dose confirmed.)

DTap + Rotavirus = today
Hib + PCV + IPV = next week
Oh and I think Hepatitis B if I'm not mistaken. Too tired for brain to function right now ^^'
