I'm freaking out, and scared to death!

My husband came home today from work for lunch, he told me he had bad news! His company stopped offering health insurance last week!! I'm not sure what to do, we make too much to apply for medicaid, and I'm due march 1st! We talked about looking for a new job, but usually they won't let you get insurance for 90 days.... What am I supposed to do? I am so panicked and I feel like all I can do is cry.... What can I even do in 7 weeks and 4 days? I could even go early and have this baby before my due date!

    Call the insurance company and see what options they offer. Call the Medicaid office too - financial rules are different when you're pregnant. Your husband just found out about this today? That seems like something he would have known about for a while now...

    This. It may be pricier than through his work but it will get you through until you can find another option. Or try the exchange.

    A lot of companies now have a 30 day wait for coverage at a new job with a COBRA option for those 30 days. That's what ours was. COBRA is probably your best option right now no matter what.

    After a long day, lots of crying, and many calls to my mom I think I have it figured out with the new obamacare options, which is basically why this company dropped health insurance in the first place, very annoying though. Not what I wanted to do, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. The prices through my state are about the same for what we were paying and I get to keep the insurance I actually have (which means I still get my breast pump paid for, yay! One good thing)

    They had previously told the company that they were taking our insurance in a "new direction," but mainly we had just heard we were losing dental and eye insurance, but they dropped it all last Thursday and held a meeting today for the company.
    There is another girl do in march whose husband works there and they were freaking out too. I guess we should just be glad they did it now and not right before March!
