I'm a Caucasian lady with super straight hair. This is all I've ever taken care of or styled. My husband is Hispanic and Jewish. His hair has been really short for years so I kind of forgot how it is until looking at photos from when it was longer. He and his family have thick, coarse, curly/wavy hair. When long, he kind of had a puffball thing going.
Based on the trends I've seen in his family, I think his genes will trump mine there. Our daughter will likely have his massive head of hair. This just dawned on me today and I thought, "I don't have a clue what to do with that hair. I've got some learning to do." (I've spent my life trying to amplify/volumize my own.)
Anyone else?
Re: Learning a different hair texture with your kid?
But I am also a cosmetologist- and as different as hair can be, it can all be pretty much styled the same way. Aside from African American hair, which essentially needs more products to help keep it tame and manageable.
But it will be fine, and in the beginning wont need much tender to anyways =] have fun with it!!
