Jake is nearly 10 months old and I recently notice he doesn't babble with consonants nearly as much as he used to. He used to do the "babadadagaga" stuff on a eegular basis, but now he doesn't really do it much at all anymore. He does coo and make vowel sounds, so he is vocalizing. He's even screaming (with a smile on his face- he appears to be having fun). He also displays regular social behavior- making eye contact with trusted adults, responding with gesture, etc. he just doesn't seem to be making his consonant sounds as much. Now, he was determined to be having seizures (which caused him to have episodes of apnea) from when he was about 6 months old....but I can't remember if his babbling changed then or not, and he's been on medication that has kept him without an episode for nearly 4 weeks now. An MRI didn't find anything that might point to a developmental delay, so I don't know,
Have any of you other mamas seen anything like this?
