Re: Monday Morning Vents

  • OMG, it's 16 degrees out!

Also, the first full week back to work and it's month end which means late nights on top of that.

I'm starting to get a sore throat.

    Waaahhhh!

  • It's Monday.... and it's rainy and COLD and raw...I forgot my wallet and home and didn't pack my lunch. It's a new year and instead of starting a diet I have been at home eating my feelings so my ass feels pretty large at the moment.... (sigh)
OK thanks I needed to get that out!
  • We are in the middle of a 4hr drive to NY for a funeral with DD2, who *hates* the car. The fog is so thick we can barely see. Blergh.
  • I was getting emails over the weekend from clients asking me to do work for a deal that was signed on Sunday.  Except that I don't have remote access (because I'm a low-level staffer who doesn't merit a laptop or a company phone with email access), wasn't working at the office all weekend, and my boss hasn't done much after the past several annual reviews where I've asked about promotion opportunities.  I wonder if inconveniencing our clients will finally give him what he needs to give me a damn promotion already.  How long do you have to do work above your paygrade to be recognized??

  • First full week back sucks.

Starting to count calories again after slacking for the last couple of weeks. I am hungry already!

House cleaner can't come today bc of a sick kid so I have to wait until Wednesday.

All ridiculous first world problems!! ;)

  • I have first day at new job jitters.
I woke up to DD's feet on my face an hour before I need to be up and can't fall back asleep

Good luck with your new job!!!!!!

  • It's my first full week back after being out of the office for 2 full weeks, plus a snow day.  I woke up with a sore throat and cramps, and just couldn't drag myself to the treadmill.

DD1 would NOT get ready for school this morning, and threw such a tantrum that she woke up DD2.

My train was late.  Once I got on, some guy got all huffy with me because I asked him to move his bag to sit down. It was all I could do not to scream, "If you want your own seat, DRIVE YOUR CAR!!!"

I had a meeting with an executive team first thing and had no background on the topic.  My boss asked me to join, and I assumed he'd guide the conversation and ask me to jump in.  Nope.  No guidance.  I flew blind.  It sucked.

2014 is starting off with a bang...

It's about -16 this morning with wind chills between -30 to -50 and of course I have to be at work.

Although really, as long as my car started this morning, I'm fine at work.  I have to run down and turn it on during lunch to make sure it doesn't sit for 8 hours in this weather.  I did get stuck in the frozen ice in my alley this morning but DH pushed me out with his jeep.

My vent is that I never get a "snow day" or a day off due to weather unless I can't physically make it to work.  Unfortunately for me I somehow always make it to work.
  • We had a staff meeting this morning and had to hear about everything we're doing wrong, blah, blah, blah. Sucky way to start off the week.

  • I'm on the cold list too. It was -12 this morning. Plus, the first day bak to school for my kids and they were all in HORRIBLE moods. Not to mention my DH was also in a terrible mood. And, it's the first full work week after the holidays. UGH.
  • It's afternoon, but I'll join in...

DS was verrry wakeful last night, and even had a midnight poop session (which hasn't happened in many months) which means it was even harder to get him back to sleep after the diaper change. Oh, and he's been back to waking up at 5:30 am after a few weeks of waking between 6 and 7. I was really hoping that was his new norm :'(

So, I'm tired. And I have a headache. And I'm really, really feeling sorry for myself. :P

  • I now have Bell's Palsy--the left half of my face is paralyzed. I woke up this way on New Year's Day. Happy 2014 to me. It gives me headaches and super sensitive eyes (since the left one can't blink), not to mention the crooked, frozen face. It will go away, but in the mean time...ugh.
  • It's late but still Monday so...

    4 month old sleep regression
    4 month old shots
    3 year old potty training
    3 year old attitude
    0 degree weather
2 dogs who refuse to poop in 0 degree weather
DH going to his parents house tonight for one quick thing and still not home over an hour later

    Yeah. That's all.

Not a great start to the new year. Sry, you're going through this and hopefully, it's very temporary - like over this week!
