Pregnant in Raleigh looking for other LGBT moms.

My partner and I are expecting our first little one in May and are wanting to get more involved and make friends within the LGBT community. Hoping to connect with others out there.

    This is a great support system.  I don't know anyone that lives in your area on the board, we are spread out all over the US.  We have pregnancy check-ins on Mondays and then other 'themed' forums each day.  Jump right in and share with us.  We are a wonderful supportive group, but will be honest if need be :-)

    First ultrasound on January 8th 2014-great healthy heartbeat
    Second Ultrasound January 23 (8 weeks) we got to see and hear the heartbeat
    Third Ultrasound Feb 4th(10 weeks), then will  released to OBGYN'
    It's a GIRL!
    We welcomed Adalyn Cooper Elizabeth on 8/29/14
    She was 7lbs 11oz and 19.6 inches long

    Proud foster parents to two little girls ages 2.5 yrs old, M,  and 1 year old, K

    Welcome and congratulations! As everyone else has said, we have a wonderful and supportive community here.

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

    Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013. 

    11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good. 

    12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

    12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

    I'm not in Raleigh, but I am in Charlotte.  My partner and I are having Boy/Girl twins due May 23rd :).  Congratulations to you !

    I don't know if there are any active groups, but you might want to try "meetup.com". Here they have "LGBT families" groups and other such meet ups. This will allow you to easily search in your area to see if there are any active groups. Congrats! So exciting!
    Iui #1 = unmedicated = bfn. Iui # 2 = clomid 50 mg = bfn. Iui # 3 = clomid 50 mg = bfn. Iui # 4 = unmedicated = bfn. Iui # 5 = unmedicated = bfp - miscarriage at 5 wks. Iui #6 = nov 2012 = gonal f 75, endotrim 100= chemical pregnancy/bfn

    Hi muffin0615! We are I Raleigh too and trying. We have been trying for a year with a first time success that lead to an early loss. Now we just got insurance fixed and will be trying again in a month or two. :). I live in Fuquay. Would love to chat with you!


    10 medicated IUI's (3 with injectables). 
    IUI #1 (medicated) Jan. 2013-BFP!!!!- Beta's didn't double, MTX shot for possible ectopic.
    8 IUI's between April 13-April 14 = BFN 
    IUI #10 and final before IVF, injectables May 2014- BFP!!!!  TWINS!!!!

    7 week ultrasound showed 2 wonderful heartbeats!
    8 weeks to the ER with vaginal bleeding while on vacations!  Diagnosed SubChorionic Hemorrhage.  Babies are both great.
    9 week ultrasound showed both babies are still great.
