Just curious because of my own dilemma...or at least that's what I'm calling it. When do you plan to tell the world your eggo is prego? And if you have how did you do it?
Mine is that we had a loss last month at 4 weeks 2 days so I'm nervous about announcing until a certain point but what is that point ya know? I won't have my first appointment until after Jan 19, that's when my birth center tour is and then they'll set up my first appointment after that. I would be 7 weeks at the tour so I'm not sure how much further they'll do the appointment. I want to announce but I don't want to do it too soon.
Aww I love the valentine one and the Christmas one! Duck duck moose lol too cute!
I bought DD's Big sister shirts and I want them to hold chalk board signs saying, "Its my turn" for dd2 and I'm going to be a pro for dd1. I'll take pics and then upload them after I've called my grandparents and sisters.
I hear ya on that. @sweettea42 I feel bad not telling some close family when people here find out bc I'm not drinking or doing certain things. I mean they're not morons.
Aww @Bpaws I love it! I just talked with hubby about it and he really wants to wait until our first appointment or u/s. So I think we agreed my sisters around 8weeks with the tour and my grandparents right before we tell everyone else bc my grandma has a big mouth lol
In Canada, it's totally not uncommon to get one first at 18 weeks. I didn't even know earlier was a thing until this pregnancy when we had issues! 12 weeks will be here before you know it!
Oh lord I'd go crazy waiting that long! You're right though. I have two minions to keep me occupied until then!
I told family at about 7 to 7.5 weeks since I saw them all at that time for Christmas. I also told some of my close college friends on New Year's, at about 8 weeks. I don't have an appointment until this Wednesday, and even then, no ultrasound but I decided to tell those people anyway. For a facebook announcement, I may do something similar to @Ladyale with a Valentine's Day theme. I should be nearly 15 weeks by then.. hoping by that point I will at least have heard the heartbeat with doppler. On the other hand, I may just hold out until after the anatomy scan. I'll have to see how it goes...

We waited until I was 12 weeks (I had heard the hb for the first time that day) because I was nervous given our loss earlier in the year. For MIL and my dad I used a plum and told them that was how big their grandchild was, and for my mom I just said she was going to have a very busy spring (SIL is also due then). Eta: @LadyAle I love the valentine idea.
I think we are going to announce to extended family and the FB world after my first U/S (which will probably be around 10-12 weeks...I will know after my intake appointment). I think we are going to do something with our boots and buy some baby shoes.
I haven't decided when I'm going to tell my flight. I told a few people when I came back from leave, and my supervisor, flight chief, and flight commander know. I want to hold off as long as possible.
We told my family when they were here over Christmas because I'm horrible at keeping secrets, and we had the confirmation appointment the week they were here. We also told the ILs and DH's grandparents the week of Christmas.
I called my best friend the day I found out.

Because of our previous loss, I don't want to tell our parents until we've heard a heartbeat. If we make a FB announcement, it'll be a picture of me wearing this t-shirt & we'll do it right around 12 weeks, which is during Mardi Gras back home.
We've told a handful of friends and family. Our appointment is next week and we will get to hear the heartbeat.
After that, I was thinking of making a FB announcement but IDK...we're just not the mushy cutesy type so I'm not sure what to do! I like the shoe picture idea, but my cousin is due two days after me and she used that one already.
Maybe I'll just post a belly picture and title it, "Whoops."

I second pinterest for ideas. If you post a pic of your belly and write whoops, you're going to get people thinking it wasn't planned, and an onslaught of comments. Personally I wouldn't want that. Eta @tealowl
