just out of curiosity, do you guys do naked baby time with your LOs and do you think it's helped them develop faster physically? We've never really done much of it, and I kind of regret that, but she always ends up scratching herself and causing injuries, so we gave up trying.

Do you mean naked except the diaper? If so, then we did it a lot during the summer just because it was so hot. I am not sure if it has really caused anything different. We always have the diaper on because kid likes to pee the second it comes off. My ds always scratches himself as well. In fact, now that he is scooting, I make sure he is always wearing pants because his knees get red.

We do (completely) naked baby time. We have since she was born (even though she peed without her diaper). I feel like that's why she's walking already.

In all seriousness though, we've done it just to air her out to lessen chances of rashes (and, no, she's not really walking).

We do it multiple times a day for about 1.5 milliseconds (while we swap diapers). That is all the time he needs to grab a handful of his junk and give it a yank.

He is not walking. He went straight to running marathons.... He and @trademama's DS are doing an iron man next month. I'm kidding of course ((except about trademama's. He probably could)

No we don't, cleaning pee off things is not my idea of a good time...

but really, why would this help them develop faster? I am confused with the correlation.

We did in the beginning because it's supposed to help them get a feel for their own body better. Plus it's easier to manoeuvre with less clothes. She used to love it.

We don't bother now.

We used to do it a lot when it was warm out and when he was younger because it seemed like it helped him figure out how to maneuver his body to roll. But now we do it in his room where it's always a little warmer and with a diaper on.

Yes, we do, and have since she was about a month old. I put down a couple of toddler sized prefolds and it doesn't matter if she pees, although she usually doesn't anymore. I have never done it because of developmental reasons, we just did it because she loves it and it's good for their heineys to air out.

@bhjones1980 - like beaubecca said, I had heard that it helps them figure out how to move their bodies better because there's more contact with surfaces. I was just curious to see if anyone had thought it actually did help. S just figured out how to roll back to belly and she's 8 months old, so it made me wonder if I had given her more naked time if it would have made any difference.

@Shantxtell, why am I not surprised you enjoy being naked

We do before bath time, not too long, we are in Ohio and the temp are in the negatives right now. She is sooooo happy when she is just in her diaper. She can be in the crankiest mood and as soon as you take her clothes off, it's like a switch!

no, we don't do it. I used to do a little bit after bath time when he would stay on a diaper pad but now there is too much peeing risk.

I don't do it either. I have carpet and don't like cleaning pee. She does get to hang in her diaper lots tho

I let her roll around in her crib naked for a couple minutes between diaper changes just because she loves it so much. Knock on wood we've only had a pee incident once.

As far as development goes, I just try not to have her in really constricting clothing all the time so she can move around easily. I let her play on the floor in just a onesie or her diaper a lot. I'm not really sure if it helped with her learning to roll but I'm hoping it helps with her learning to crawl. I don't imagine it is an easy thing to learn in skinny jeans.

we let her hang out without pants tonight before bed and I think that was the first time she really really tried to pull her knees under her...so maybe there is some truth to the whole naked baby time...

Max loves being naked. It's also a huge switch for him. He can be melting down, but if you strip him naked, he's like a brand new baby. He'll probably grow up to be a stripper.

He also has major poop issues, and as weird as it sounds, being naked seems to help him eek one out. You can totally tell when he's doing it, so I can slide a diaper underneath him as he lets one go. With a diaper on, he screams bloody murder while he poops. Without, he just whimpers a little.

Nothing grosses me out anymore.

Don't your naked babies get cold? LO shivers once and a while when I change him, we keep it 70 degrees in the house but it still seems chilly to be running around in his birthday suit.

He wasnt happy when I did the new years baby photo shoot (See sig picture)

@SpanFran - S screams bloody murder when she poops too! I should try unwrapping her diaper when she poops just to see what she does. Unfortunately she poops like 5 times a day, half of them being MOTN so she's shit outta luck at that point...
