  We didn't have long at all, I think it was about 3-4 weeks. It was perfect for us as we were moving from an apartment and we were dying to get out of there.

  It sounds like 45 days is pretty normal then, so having one for the end of February wouldn't be outside of the acceptable timeframe.

  I work for a Real Estate Law Office in Western NY and it takes an average of 60 days here.

  We did a short sale, so the process was anything but short!! The closing date got pushed back so many times. Congrats!!

  Thanks for all your input ladies! We're putting in an offer on our first house today and I think Mid-February sounds like a good closing date from what you all said. Now for the negotiations. LOL

  Ours was 30 days. It was actually pretty hard to find a bank that would do it in 30 days, but we did, and got quite a good interest rate too.

  Ours was about 6 weeks, but we had a VA loan and that can take longer to close.
