Just starting little man on some food, one kind a week. I don't want to over stuff him, he slows down on his own too. He is EBF otherwise.
Does anyone know how big their tummy size is at 5-6 months?

Re: How much?! Oz?

  • I started my son on solids at 6.5 months.  He ate maybe a baby spoon worth of food every couple of days.  After a couple of attempts at spoon feeding we switched to baby led weaning (BLW) and from there he started to gradually eat more.

  • wholesomebabyfoods.com is a great resource. Their bellies are about the size of their fist. You should always give Breast Milk or Formula first, at this age, then try a cube (think ice cube) of food which they may or may not finish.
This.  I think an ice cube is around 2oz of liquid food.  My LO may eat only a 1/4 to a `1/2 some nights.  Most nights he will eat it all plus 2+ oz of formula.  this is a normal oz dosage for him at one sitting.
