Post C-section peeing

Hi ladies! Just wondering what your experience was with peeing after your sections. I am still in the hospital and finding that it takes a lot of focused attention and conscious effort to pee.

Anyone else?

It was definitely a challenge to pee the first few times after they took the catheter out. It still was a little weird when I got home but got better over the first week.

It was a few days after that feeling went away for me. Then it never really felt like I had to go so when I finally did go, it kind of hurt since I had waiTed so long. I then had to remind myself to go every couple of hours. That lasted a couple weeks. Now at 6 weeks everything feels normal.

I don't feel like I have to go either. Which is a stark difference from constantly having to go while pregnant.

For the first week I had no feeling that I wanted to pee. I just had to remember to go every few hours. I also found that when my bladder was empty It felt uncomfortable and a little painful too.

I also didn't have the urge, but had to remind myself. The urge is coming back slowly though. I'm 19 days post partum.

I peed myself two nights post partum, one because I did not feel the urge till it was really really there and two my husband was sound asleep and I needed help out of bed. So I hurt myself trying to get out of bed and to the bathroom. I made it to the bathroom but not to the tiolet. I had to call the nurse from the bathroom help button I was so emrassed but after that I was ok.

The first pee after taking the cath out was horrible. I had to go but it took forever for anything to come out. Each subsequent one was a little better and now 5 days later, it's almost normal. The nurses said the bladder is incredibly lazy and takes a long time to start working again.

Drink tons of water it makes such a difference! I drank 2 or 3 hospital cups w. ice every hour or so, I didn't do that w. my first 2 C/S and wow it makes a difference.  The first 2 or 3 times going takes work but 5 or 6 days out I was much better
