For those if you that had the NT Scan with the US and blood test...when you received the results did they just tell you positive or negative or did they give you a number result like 1 in a 1,000 (example)
I can't remember 100% because the last one I had done was over 3 years ago but I'm pretty sure they gave me a number... We have our scan for this baby next Monday.
It's a number, the NT can't tell positive or negative.
Yes, it's a number, but when the number is greater than 1/200 or 1/300, they term it "positive" and recommend further testing. It doesn't mean positive for trisomies.
It all depends on the NT # (thickness of fluid behind baby's neck. They said if its lower than 3.0 mm then that is considered "negative" on the ultrasound. Ours was 1.8 so that was good. Then they pricked my finger and dropped blood into 4 circles on this paper and called me 4 days later and said results were good and gave me a 1 in 4,100 chance based on those 2 tests being good and my age which is 26. The younger you are the lower your chance.

This sounds identical to the test I've taken. My office said seven days for the bloodwork to come back. With DD it was a umber.
