Hi Ladies,
Hope its ok that I pop in to ask a question. I have had 8 unsuccessful IUIS with 1 MC and 1 CP. Most recently I had an IVF cycle but miscarried a chromosomally normal boy at 6 weeks. I am wondering if any of you tried IVIG, Heparin, and Aspirin preventatively even without significant test results. Did you experience any side effects? Do you believe that protocol lead to your IVF success?
Really appreciate your thoughts and opinions.
Thanks.

I had two children and then two miscarriages not related to chromosomal issues so my doctors suspected immune issues. I had clotting and immune testing done and was found to have MTHFR but not other serious issues despite having actually had a DVT in my leg after the birth of my second child (well, for a while they thought I had a protein S deficiency but later that tested normal.) Anyway, I saw a doctor who specializes in repeat pregnancy loss and immune issues and she suggested IVIG or IV intralipids as those are far less expensive and in her experience tend to work just as well.
Anyway, to make a long story shorter, I used baby aspirin, lovenox/heparin, dexamethasone, high doses of progesterone, high doses of folic acid/b vitamins and IV intralipids in my fifth pregnancy which resulted in a healthy baby boy. About eight months later I unexpectedly became pregnant again and did all the same except for the intralipids and had a healthy baby girl. So, not sure how important the intralipids were, or if it was more the baby aspirin, steriods and progesterone which helped. I was on the lovenox for the pregnancies I lost as well as those that were successful.
My view on most of this is that none of it can really hurt and in the end I wanted to be able to say that I did everything I could to get pregnant and carry my baby to term.
Best of luck to you and let me know if you have more questions.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
