C-sections

Underwear post-section

Anyone have specific brand and style recs for underwear that won't hit the incision afterwards? All of my low rise stuff hit at the worst spot possible last time.

Re: Underwear post-section

  • I got Hanes granny panties in several sizes bigger than I would need. They hit me just below my belly button, so they don't rub the wrong spots.

Me too, though it might have been Fruit of the Loom, but same idea.

I wore the cheap fruit if the loom or hanes high waist ones, with a pad tucked in to protect the incision (from rubbing and from seatbelts). The pad was over the incision, but the waist band was higher. I wore those for about two weeks then switched to the soft Gilligan o malley (sp?) hipster ones i already had from target, and just wore them a little lower on my hips.

I did this as well and then moved on to the c panty. They were great bc they offered some support and had a silicone strip that went over my incision and made it feel protected.

  • I came home with a bunch from the hospital too. I had 3 c-s. I did put on the ones I already had to
  • Target sells great post c-section underwear. Hanes and I get the high cut briefs that hit at the belly button -- definite granny panties but VERY necessary the first month after a c-section.

Exactly this. I felt like an old woman, but there was no rubbing!

This. By the end of week 2 I was back to my regular underwear.

  • I like the VS briefs with the lace at the top. I just buy them one size bigger. They go high enough and the lace is stretchy and more comfy than a regular waistband.

  • I just used the mesh ones from the hospital - with a pad over the incision stuck to the inside of the mesh undies.

  • Hanes tall granny pannies and oh do i love them! I'm 4 weeks post CS and have no want to give these comfy bad boys up any time soon!
  • Loved the soft Hanes-there's two diff kinds-get the ones called "comfort soft waistband" -they are SO much softer than original ones.
  • I used the mesh panties from the hospital for the first week. Then moved to my regular lace waisted panties afterwards. I found it was my belly above my incision that bothered me the most.
  • Granny panties. Or, when the bleeding stops, no underwear at all ;)
  • I bought a pack of cheap granny panties - full briefs - in a slightly larger size, I think Fruit of the Loom. I wore them until I went back to work at about 6 weeks, and then I went back to my hipsters.
