My insurance covers diagnosis but not treatment which is pretty common. ?Everything I have done up until this point (testing, HSG, SHG, and hysteroscopy) has been covered. ?Next month's IUI is completely out of pocket. ?I just gave my credit card number to a mail order pharmacy tonight. ?December 29 it will be charged $1022.00. ?I really hope my first treatment is the last! ?Good luck to you!

Mine covers everything but only through 2008 Next year our benefit plan is based in a different state (MD to NY) which does not have a regulation to cover IVF. So in 2009 diagnostic tests are covered (which I have already done) but not IVF. I am quite upset about this and cannot afford the OOP costs.
Here's a link to the list of coverage regulations by state:
FrannyS- thank you for posting that link. I had been trying to find out if my insurance co covered infertility treatments with no luck (I hadn't been trying that hard admittedly since we're not there yet) but now thanks to you I know that my state, MD, requires coverage. I have really been worried about what we would do if it came to that.
We are lucky. My insurance covers all IF diagnostics and meds like any other medical issue. IF treatment is covered at 95% up to a $15K combined lifetime max.
