Intro.... (Update)

I went for my 13 week ultrasound today, and the tech said that the baby is bigger & instead of July 8th as my due date, she said it was closer to June 30-July 4. My name is Sherry & I'm 41 years old, this is my first pregnancy.   You heard that right... I'm 41 & this is my first pregnancy.  

I've been told since I was a teenager that my body was not capable of bearing children, and then again about 10 years ago that I would never conceive. I have PCOS, which in & of itself makes it harder, but with me going undiagnosed for over 20 years & having multiply cyst rupture, the Dr told me that my ovaries are too damaged, that there is no way they could produce an egg.  Hubby & I wanted to be parents, so we got into Foster care. We fostered 6 children all under the age of 6 (at different times). We ended up adopting our two children from foster care system. It was amazing & I can't see my life without them! We got them at 20 months old & 4 years old, they are 10 & 12 now. 

Not only am I pregnant but my new Dr said that my ovaries & uterus looks perfect! 

My hubby & I have been together for 23 years, and married for 20. He is an amazing husband & father.

UPDATE: I went to my OB on Friday.  Did the dreaded pap-smear... :(  Then he talked to my husband & I for a little bit.  I was scheduled to do a genetic test called EARLY SCREEN, it includes an ultrasound & blood work.  The ultrasound showed me being 14 weeks, not 13 weeks - so they couldn't do the blood work.  But the Dr said the ultrasound you measure the skin on the back of the neck, and that looked normal.  He said he didn't think we needed to do any other testing unless we wanted to.  DH & I had already researched & decided that we didn't want any other testing.  He said that everything looked great, and he believes that we will have a normal pregnancy.  My due date is somewhere between June 30-July 3.  He gave me a due date of July 3, but was pretty certain that it would be before July even got here.  He calmed all my fears about being 41 & even made us laugh a few times.... it was pretty awesome.
