College Fund for Baby

Has anyone done in research into what type of account(s) to set up for a college fund? I'm a little lost at to what to do. I plan to research, but thought I may be able to start with some bumpie knowledge. Thanks.

    Right now we are researching the best tax options for us. we just have a savings account in her name and use upromise. It's a site where you can register all your cards and customer reward cards like Kroger, etc and you get a monetary return. There's also an option to go through them when you online shop. For instance they have promotions for certain vendors everyday. You can apply it to a child or to your own student loans. Another good thing is your parents/family can also earn for your children just by registering. It's not a ton but we've earned about 600 dollars so far.
