BOB stroller questions: Which model, and can it be the primary stroller?

We're looking for a good quality jogging stroller. I think we have it narrowed down to either the BOB Revolution CE or the BOB Revolution SE. Both seem like they would to the job and was wondering if anyone has insight into whether one would be better than the other and/or if either would be appropriate as our only stroller.

Our situation: We are both runners (he does shorter distances, I do longer). We run primarily off-road but on paved trails. We live in downtown Philadelphia, which is very pedestrian friendly (wide sidewalks, etc.). We plan to use a baby carrier for most trips (running to the corner store, picking up dry cleaning) and the stroller for the rest (doctor's appts., grocery runs, etc.)

Rarely will we need to put the stroller in the car, other than for day trips to an amusement park or things of that nature. And we can store it on the first floor of our house, so stairs aren't an issue.

Am I crazy to think I can get by with just the BOB for a stroller? Any other suggestions?

Re: BOB stroller questions: Which model, and can it be the primary stroller?

  • That's a great question. We bought the BOB SE but the baby isn't due until April so I'm in the same boat with another stroller. We also registered for the Maclaren Techno XLR I was told that is a great running around stroller for day to day activities. The BOB folds up great and fits in my trunk and I have a 2012 Ford Focus Hatchback. I was worried it wouldn't fit but it does. So the end result I will be watching this forum too. :) I would like to only have one stroller too.

  • You should be fine. The only thing to keep in mind is they don't recommend running with baby until he/she is 6 months old. Depending on you car seat, you can ge an adapter fo the infant seat for everyday use. We bough a Chicco travel system inituall, but around 9 months I bought t Bob and used that as our primary and rarely used it for running, just like the wheels and it was a much smoother ride for DS. It is a bit bulky, but I never have trouble navigating malls, etc with it.
  • I agree with the other poster who said you will want the SE over the CE for running.  You can definitely try using the BOB and your only stroller and see how it goes.  I think that's often harder for people who are in and out of the car but since you aren't you could make it work.  I still think at some point you will probably want something smaller but you can wait and see.
