Horrible back pain. Advice please. :)

I've been up all night from my back aching. I can't decide if I should go to the ER or it's just normal and ligament stretching pain. All though I am out of town and unable to go to my doctor. Do any of you ladies have any advice? Or have had this happen to them? I just worry..

Re: Horrible back pain. Advice please. :)

  • I think that's what I'm going to try and do. I'm visiting family in Florida and I live in California, but I'll be back Wednesday and actually have my doctors appointment Thursday. I think that's what worries me, how far away I am from home. It makes me feel better I'm not alone on this! I'll just relax and see if that helps or it goes away finally :). Thanks!

  • My back pain eased up when I started sleeping with a pillow between my legs. I didn't think I was big enough to need it yet, but it alleviated a lot of that pain and helped me sleep better at night. This is my 2nd pregnancy and the back pain started so much earlier than my first. You might want to try that first? Good luck!
  • Try sitting in a warm bath it might help the pain go away. Hope it gets better

  • Oof, up all night in pain isn't normal. I would get to an urgent care or better yet (for me) the chiro. Feel better OP and PPs!

I am 17 weeks 4 days, so thats how I feel - it's so early to have this back pain. This is my first so a lot of things worry me and are new too. I just feel like maybe I am overreacting. I'm going to try a couple of you gals suggestions and see if that helps :)
  • Tylenol, heating pad, and back stretches!!

I get really intense lower back pain, although today and yesterday my upper back has been hurting. I sit in a warm bath and have been seeing a chiropractor. Those things help. Maybe someone in your family knows of a good chiro you can see if the pain continues.

  • Chiropractor. Chiropractor. Chiropractor. Sooner the better. And a good sports massage (not the spa kind) in between. Back pain is a soul sucking kind if pain. Sorry your going through it :(

  • Put your hands on a wall or bar counter top and kick your leg out straight behind you and alternate to 10-15 per leg and you should feel amazing after.

  • Thank you ladies! These have all been very helpful. Back still hurts some but definitely not as bad as before. :):)
  • I feel your pain. I've been on disability for 6 weeks because of it. I'm seeing physical therapy 1-2 times a week and my back has gotten a lot better.
