Garlic oil for ear infections

Has anyone ever tried this method for ear infections? If so, how well did it work?

DS got diagnosed with the flu and a double ear infection this week, days after we finished his antibiotics for his previous double ear infection. I'm all for modern medicine, but I don't want to be giving him tons of antibiotics if this is going to be frequent.

If he gets anymore ear infections, I'll still have to get it diagnosed by the doctor since he doesn't show any typical symptoms, like ear tugging. Hopefully, the pediatrician won't be too upset by me wanting to try something more natural.

    I try to get garlic in DD's food, I think she gets some through my breast milk because if I eat a lot of garlic I can smell it in my milk. My mom swears by garlic so I grew up thinking it was pretty much a cure all! 

    I've never/DD has never had an ear infection but I would absolutely try garlic oil.
