Re: Snow!!!!

  • These storms are ridiculous! Though it is a good excuse to stay home and snuggle with my LO.
  • Loading the player...
  • We are supposed to get another 8-14 inches.

  • We are missing the snow but the high(wind chill) on Monday is going to be like 40 below
  • We're forecasted at 8-12" & I'm looking at going into labor any minute now (lost my baby cork, contractions are getting stronger/painful now). Panic is starting.

If we make it through the weekend baby-free, we have induction scheduled for Monday morning. I'm terrified of the road conditions!

@jenilynn85 - call the on-call doctor or your doctor to see if you should head to L&D at 7-8 minutes apart instead of 5. That way you can take more time getting there

Second this. Somehow Kaleb knew when it was going to be like 50 here in December and decided then was a great time to find a reason to be induced

And thanks ladies, I'll definitely call and check on that if the contractions start getting that close!

Definitely worth a call! The nurses at the hospital told me that they get slammed right before/during a snow storm because the drop in bromic pressure (sp?) causes women to go into labor.

This is very true! Storms cause labor!! My LO decided to come 6 weeks early and I think it was because of a huge storm. Austin tx was under water the night I went into labor. Massive floods everywhere. I barely made it to the hospital. The road I drive to the hospital turned into a river 5 minutes after we drove on it. And a women died on that road that night too from being trapped in her car and drowning. Scary! My LO's name is River...very fitting for the way Austin was for days after the storm. ;)

When I got to the hospital the NICU was already full due to the large number of preemies arriving that day. They had to transfer me to hospital very far away and of course I had different doctors and multiple hospital bills.

Long story short! Call your doc and be prepared to not only go into labor but to run into issues with room in the hospital!!

Eta: Sorry I don't mean to scare you and cause more stress! But i think you should just be prepared.,
