I will be starting a job at a daycare soon after not working for 2 years and my 15 month old daughter will come with me and be in the toddler room. I feel like I have so many questions about this new transition, the job part and having her in daycare for the first time. Does anyone have recommendations on containers for your child's lunch and snacks? Does anyone have experience working at the same daycare your child attends and any tips for me? TIA!!
Re: Daycare job
I'm a special ed teacher in a preschool, my DD is in the toddler room as a typical peer. It's great but at the start I did a lot of hall dodging. She had a hard time seeing me in the halls and not going with me. She's been there a year and now it's NBD. I love that I'm friends with who is taking care of her and I'm in a position to voice my concerns about some things and they get taken care of right away. It also let's me work up to the last minute when I need to and not have to factor in commute to get her. Daycare closes at 5:30, I can work till 5:25 on days I need to and still get her on time. I also had a lot of say on where she moves up to at three and got to choose the teacher I thought would be the best fit and have been working with her current teacher to help best place the three (DD and her two BFF's) as the will all move at the same time. We are keeping two together and I'm taking one. We think it will be the best situation for everyone. Good luck with your new job.
I have a Daughter born 2/26/2013. She is pretty much amazing!
