Blood work results

Progesterone low again, starting prometrium suppositories tonight (gross).
HCG is low but in the range of a 4-5 week pregnancy, so I'll go back Monday for another blood draw to make sure it is rising.

Ugh.  I really wish it wasn't Friday so that I could to back tomorrow for the blood work.  I hate this waiting stuff.

  • The timing is annoying - but when you think about it, it's all lining up. The low HCG - 4-5 week range also explains why you didn't get confirmation on the digi right out of the gate. Sending you vibes for a nice strong doubling time.

I hear ya on the suppositories. I was on crinone from a week before finding out I was pregnant all the way through 13 weeks. GROSS. HATED that stuff.

It's gross, but I think it also gave me migraines, so I am hopeful that won't happen this time around.

Thanks ladies for all the good vibes. I really appreciate it.  I'm going to go hang out with my super pregnant friend this weekend and hope it rubs off. ;-)

  • I'm so sorry you have to keep waiting! Hope your weekend is busy and goes by quickly.
  • Thanks so much everybody - it is record-breakingly cold this weekend in MN so I'll be hunkering down and then working from home on monday, going in at 10 for the bloodwork!

So jealous you're working from home. Because the governor closed schools we'll just have more kids at the center who are all going stir crazy because everyone has been couped up since flipping November! Waaaah. Positive ibes sent your way or the test results in Monday.

Yeah, I'm going to keep James home with me, I think.  I know our daycare will be swamped and I don't want him to have to go out in the cold - DH can work from home in the morning and stay with him while I go to the doc.  I can't believe how cold it is.  I was a senior in high school the last time this happened -- Arne Carlson closed the schools due to extreme cold for three days and we were all giddy with excitement!

  • Well, you could have to stick yourself with a giant IM needle and inject the progesterone instead ;)  That's what I had to do for 12 freaking weeks!  Totally sucked!  But it helped me stay pregnant with the girls, so I'd do it all over again.

    Congrats!

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

Oh yeah, I'd way rather do the suppositories.  And actually, I don't even care about having to do them, except that I get this rather odd form of migraines where I lose vision and get confused and sick to my stomach, etc... and I really hope they don't cause them again!

That's the worst! I was on blood thinners my whole pregnancy and 6 weeks PP. I have to inject myself 2x per day into the stomach...then thighs. Boo!

FX that everything goes great JSS!

I got those migraines when I was pregnant with Claire...the first one I had, I thought I was having a stroke or something and went to the ER. I guess occular migraines are a pretty common pregnancy symptom. I had them 2-3 times a week from 26 weeks until I had her. It sucked big time....so I feel for you and hope you don't get them again.

Oh man, I feel for YOU on that one - I"ve never had them that frequently, but I've been having them actually since I hit puberty... just a couple of times a year...but in the first tri, I had 3, due to the progesterone (probably in combination with all the other crazy hormones).  I had the worst one of my life the same day I came home from the hospital after having J -- it was terrifying, my husband had never seen me that bad andwas convinced I was going to die and leave him with this baby.  I had to have an MRI and CT scan and didn't get home until 4 AM... it was terrifying.  Google "Hemiplegic migraines," because while they are occular, there is actually an even more specific definition for the ones with stroke-like symptoms.

I am working with a neurologist now - had a follow up MRI just a few months ago, with contrast dye, to make sure I didn't have an aneurysm or other signs of stroke and got the all clear.  IT was the SECOND scariest moment in migraine-history for me.... but with great results in the end.
