Jenny McCarthy 's son does not have autism

https://graneyandthepig.wordpress.com/2010/02/27/jenny-mccarthy-my-bad-turns-out-my-kid-doesnt-have-autism/

In a way I hope this isn't true. Not for her sons sake, but all the thousands of people who blindly followed her anti-vaccine campaign.

They are claiming that her son actually has a rare neurological condition, and that it is being treated with good results.

  • Me, too on the FB page news. I knew she knew vaccines didn't cause autism, but I didn't know he didn't have autism. She's an idiot.

  • This was just on my newsfeed last night too. Fortunately, I haven't had any huge debates or arguments with friends/ family over vaccines!

  • It's funny how people will believe anything. She posted on her facebook that this story is completely false. Enjoy.

Stories circulating online, claiming that I said my son Evan may not have autism after all, are blatantly inaccurate and completely ridiculous. Evan was diagnosed with autism by the Autism Evaluation Clinic at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital and was confirmed by the State of California (through their Regional Center). The implication that I have changed my position, that my child was not initially diagnosed with autism (and instead may suffer from Landau-Kleffner Syndrome), is both irresponsible and inaccurate. These stories cite a "new" Time Magazine interview with me, which was actually published in 2010, that never contained any such statements by me. Continued misrepresentations, such as these, only serve to open wounds of the many families who are courageously dealing with this disorder. Please know that I am taking every legal measure necessary to set this straight.

Uhm, in my OP. I stated I hope this isn't true. This would imply skepticism.

  • It's not only you. This bs news story has been blowing up my news feed all day. Do people think she really didn't see professionals? Regardless of what caused her son's autism, her beliefs about vaccines came after his diagnosis. To imply that he doesn't have it when he truly does (the website) and to spread this ignorance (everyone who shares it) really does hurt those who are effected by autism. There are aalready people who believe it doesn't exist at all. This just adds fuel to the flames.

I didn't imply any of this. You can see a Dr and receive a misdiagnosis. I never thought she didn't receive a diagnosis from a Dr.

There is a lot of misinformation on FB. You have to take everything with a grain of salt.

This article said that there was an article in Times magazine, but I never saw it so I was skeptical.

Anyways, I don't think that this article questions wether autism is real or not. It is about vaccinations creating autism that is being questioned.

Are you seriously suggesting that someone sharing (and questioning) this story is in any way suggesting that autism doesn't exist?  Because that's ridiculous.  Also, you seriously need to look up the definition of the word "imply."  Also-also, saying that people shouldn't ever doubt anything McCarthy says is kind of silly given some of the stupid shit she's said about autism and vaccines.  If she's the girl who cried wolf now when it comes to that subject, it's her own damn fault.
Mobile so sorry about the excessive quoting. I said that there are people who believe autism doesn't exist and this adds fuel to that ignorance. I never said the article or anyone on tb believes that. Ok, not imply, outright states. Better? Who said no one should question her opinions? Care to point out where I said that?

Regarding a misdiagnosis, that would be the doctors fault. The title says "my bad", leading the reader to infer that it would have been Jenny's fault, leading people to wrongly flame Jenny (as they are doing) when it isn't deserved.
