Another pumping question

I'm sure it's been asked but I'm mobile so searching doesn't really work on my phone. I just started pumping yesterday and I got a 1/2 oz between both breasts after a 10 min session. This morning after bf I went to pump and I am engorged but after 10 mins I got maybe a 1/4 an oz. is this normal in the beginning? Also I'm currently using a pump on loan from WIC called the Lactina electric plus. Any answers are much appreciated!!!

    When I first started pumping I was lucky to produce a 1/2 ounce to an ounce. Now I'm producing 3-4 ounces every 2 hours for 15 min long pumping sessions. BUT I've been pumping every 2 hours during the day and every 3 at night for the past week and a half to build up my milk supply. I believe as long as you keep doing every two hour stimulation, you will eventually start producing more but I definitely am not the best source!

    It helps to not look at the bottles while pumping! Relax and try not to focus on it. I pump and bump ;)

    Have you read the instructions on how to use the dials or buttons to choose the right suction? Are the flanges the right size?

    I checked the flanges and they take in my whole nipple so that seemed right. I tried working with the settings such as going up a notch and it didn't help produce more. Thanks for the advice lpegirl2013!

    In the breast feeding thread AmyG recommends adjusting g suction just like a baby would. Go check that out, I'll probably get it wrong if I try to explain! :-)

    I was using the wrong flanges my nipple fit in the first set but I wasn't getting much milk. Went up a size and got 2 oz out of one side in 20 mins.

    I don't get much either. I have been pumping 2 weeks every 2-4 hours. I get around 2 ounces total or less. Every once in a while a little more. I've tried different size flanges etc. My nipples hurt so bad too.

    I moved up to the 27mm flanges and not much of a difference. I'm going to try fenugreek to see if that helps.

    My breast were pretty big this morning but I didn't get much out. And I'll hold off on fenegreek then thanks.
