Questions:
Is it June yet? Actually, I do have one. A woman at work suggested this to me last night, and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
I have a fairly labor intensive job. I push a cart that weighs at least 50lbs around for 8 hours every night and clean hospital rooms. It's a lot of bending, a lot of moving around, sometimes into narrow spaces (double rooms and bathrooms), and sometimes lifting trash bags or laundry bags that are fairly heavy. If they are too heavy, I usually just set them outside the room and ask one of the aides to take them down for me.
I was talking to a coworker about my back hurting last night, and she suggested that I ask my doctor about being put on light duty. As of right now, I know that's something I don't want to do. I am still able to do my job without too much of an issue, except for occasional back aches. However, I know that the farther along I get, the harder it is going to be to do the bending over, etc.
Would you ask about being put on light duty closer to the end of pregnancy or just tough it out? I know post-pregnancy my mom had a lot of back problems, and her jobs didn't have as much back straining work as mine does, so I'm scared of creating more problems for myself.
I work part time coaching gymnastics so I do a lot of heavy lifting. I asked my doctor about it and she said it was fine up to 20 weeks (I think... Or maybe it was 26?) As long as I wasn't cramping or experiencing too much back pain. I put myself on light duty because I'm pregnant after a loss and I'm paranoid. If you're comfortable with it then I don't think there's a medical reason why you can't continue normally, but I would double check with the doctor just to be safe.
Week 18, sweet potato!
I had a full ultrasound a/s yesterday to also do a search for downs and defects as I had a slightly elevated risk. All was good and baby boy looks beautiful! Just waiting now for harmony test results to be sure, but my risk is very low so I feel pretty good
I feel great these days! I am eating and hungry (actually get very hangry if I don't eat lol) and able to exercise too. Bump has popped out and DH has started to document it.
The tv is on in bed for DH. I usually read and half watch the various home improvement shows he has on. He is convinced we are going to get on yard crashers lol.
How are you feeling?: doing well today. I had abdominal pains early this week that I have pretty much identified as gas/constipation combined with rlp.
Questions: none that I can think of.
GTKY: Do you fall asleep with the TV on of off? If it's on, what do you fall asleep to? No tv in the bedroom, but like pps I've fallen asleep on the couch with it on a lot lately. Usually football.
How are you feeling?: Better, thank goodness. The heartburn/indigestion/morning sickness that I experienced in the first trimester is finally dissipating and I am starting to actually feel hungry for meals. Now if my appetite would return, I'd be set.
Questions: Nope.
GTKY: Do you fall asleep with the TV on of off? If it's on, what do you fall asleep to?
I used to need silence to fall asleep before my son was born; now I will often fall asleep with the TV on. I typically fall asleep to television series that I've already watched (the Sopranos, Grey's Anatomy, etc.) or the ID channel and all the various true crime programs they have on there.
Questions: I don't see any change in my boobs, is this normal?
GTKY: Do you fall asleep with the TV on of off? If it's on, what do you fall asleep to? I work overnights, so on days I sleep after work, the TV is off. At nights when I'm with hubby, the TV is on...either law & order: svu or cartoon network (family guy, american dad, etc)

We just put a TV in the bedroom for my insomnia. We don't watch it consistently, we are more: binge and finish a 9 season show in a month, type people. So, sometimes its one with whatever show we are watching, sometimes its its off. If its off, I listen to this great meditation track, which I highly recommend if you have a hard time falling asleep.
