The superlatives got me thinking. I plan on breastfeeding until DS is 3, which is when he will start preschool. What I can't figure out is why it sounds so weird to say I will breastfeed until preschool but it is perfectly normal to say age 3.
Three years is a long time. I give you credit. I stress myself out over making it to a year. I know I don't have the dedication to make it three years. My supply is just too wonky.
I nursed Zoe until a month before she started Greek school and I only weaned her because I had to due to pre term labor. It was a long ass time (2 years 3 months). It will be interesting to see how long I end up nursing him.
Nursing until 3 is a long time. And it does sound odd to a lot of people. But you're right, saying "until preschool" does sound even odder. That being said, if you make it to 3 I say good for you! I know I won't since the only thing keeping my supply going is domperidone and I won't take it that long-term. But if my supply was there without the dom I'd like to BF as long as possible.
I think people hear anything with "school" and they think talking, reading potty trained etc. I think those things don't go with what people picture when you say breastfeeding.
I also don't think breast feeding until 3 sounds normal, at least in the sense that normal means common. I don't think it's weird, but I do think it's unusual. I think unusual choices tend to get reactions from people. For me personally, I just don't really share with people what we're doing with Zeke because I don't really care for comments or advice.

Yes, I have a blog and it's hilarious (except when it's not)
