How did you announce?

Have my gender reveal this upcoming Thursday & will not be inviting any family, just me & hubby.
We have already decided that we will not tell the family what the u/s said until we can sit them down together.
But, I have no idea how to tell them and I don't just wanna say it. Lol
How did you guys tell your family/ friends?

  • There's lots of ways, just depends on your preference! We were going to have family over for dinner and for dessert do a cutesy/cheesy pinterest thing like cut open the cake with pink or blue frosting. Ultimately, that sounded like too much work for me lol. So now fam's coming with to the elective ultrasound and they're thrilled. As in, text me every day with a countdown to the ultrasound lol. I won't get a cutesy way of telling them, but simple is more my style anyways :)

Check out pinterest if you want cute ideas too!

  • The cake idea is cute, but it's a bunch of work!
I've been looking on Pinterest & it seems like everything takes a few days or pla
  • Our Dr will write what it is on a paper, then we're going to pick out a boy and girl outfit and give them to the store worker along with paper. They'll put the correct outfit in a box and gift wrap it. Later that night or next we're having our parents and siblings over for dinner and after we'll open the present with the outfit in it. That way nobody gets their feelings hurt that they were the last to know.

All family members are out of town.

Somehow we promised my 12 year old niece she could be the first to know on my fiance's side of the family.  I think we might mail a package with two small boxes marked 1 and 2 or with symbols or something then tell her which one to open once we find out.  The boxes will be filled with boy or girl things.  I'm not sure what exactly, maybe confetti or a small stuffed animal in pink or blue.

For my side of the family we will probably do the same thing--sending one to my nieces to open and one to my mom/dad.

For our friends and co-workers, I'll search pinterest for an idea but will keep it pretty simple.  Probably some kind of photo.
