Why women carry babies instead of men...

At about 2 pm today, I got a text from DH saying he was feeling TERRIBLE. I asked him what was wrong... Headache and a little queasy. Lord help me. DH is definitely one of those definitions of the "man cold" catchers (I blame it on my MIL for babying him all his life). He just for off work and insists that he needs 7up and saltines and to just go to bed... His only symptoms? Still a headache and queasiness. I want so badly to be like ummm welcome to my last few months buddy! I now remember why we go through this and not men! :)

What are some of your SO stories that remind you that women are strong enough to do this pregnancy thing over men?

  • Lol.
I am totally the wimp who gets the "man cold".
Nausea please let me crawl in bed bring me tea, the heating pad, soup and saltines:) praise DH and you ladies for dealing with us sniffle wimps
  • DH is pretty good about not acting man sick but my brothers on the other hand! One brother had the exact same surgery on his knee that I did only a year earlier. I was done with pain pills, down to using the ice machine (it wraps around your entire knee and helps with pain) only 3 times a day and in physical therapy a week after mine. He was still on pain pills and using the ice machine constantly 3 weeks later. He's lucky he didn't get addicted to the pills.
  • My DH just got two wisdom teeth extracted with only a little Novocain after a full day of work, is scheduled for an early shift tomorrow and all he took is a Tylenol 3. Oh, he also made his own dinner. Is there any way this man can have this child for me? I doubt he'd need to take more than a day off.

  • My dh wouldn't be able to handle the weight and body changes.... After I popped he was asking if I was supposed to look like that and questions my normal weight gain.... He's a pe and health teacher and concerned about health and fitness in general.... Don't think he'd be able to shift hears to what's normal and healthy for pregnancy if it were him....
  • I love this post. My DH does the exact same thing! Whether I'm pregnant or not, I'm expected to suck it up!

Me too! :) DH has been sick ONCE since I've known him... I loved playing nurse! It's the most vulnerable I've ever seen him... I felt like superwoman! Haha

Same here! He's been sick twice in the 5 years we've been together and I think I get a sick amount of joy when he's sick because then I get to take care of him.

    Now me? HUGE baby butt.

  • My DH hasn't been too bad about being sick (except during allergy season when he is legit miserable) however I swear lately he is emulating my pg symptoms. I have back pain, he has back pain. I feel nauseous, he feels nauseous. We take frequent naps together because he is just as tired as me. He drinks pickle juice. So when I am silently suffering and he is going on and on about his back pain or how tired he is etc, I'm just like welcome to my world. Jealous though cuz he can have wine to ease his pains.image

  • Some days I wish DH could carry this baby for me. He is seriously a superstar and I am the wuss. He donated a kidney to his dad 4 yeas ago and after only a few weeks he was painting our two upstairs bedrooms. His motto is suck it up butter cup. Which is fine with me, I couldn't handle a whiney husband.
