F*CKIN SPIDERS!

edited January 2014 in June 2013 Moms
Ok so I found this little a$$hole Wolf Spider in my kitchen. It is currently contained in a mason jar. I am posting here because I am terrified that DD will get bit and something horrible will happen. What would you do? Seriously guys I hear him talking about getting his revenge.

*edit I tagged someone by accident

I hate those things.  I found one in my son's nursery.  I was nursing him in the nursery as my husband was putting away some laundry.  It came out of the attached bathroom and went across the room.  I screamed and ran out of the room still nursing my baby.  My husband squished it with the burp cloth he was putting away.  It still haunts me to this day.

  • I always put them outside, I need all the karma I can get.  That being said, once the spiders are in the house it is hard to get them to leave.  A barrier is used to keep them out, but it also keeps them in.  Good Luck.

  • I remember at our old house my fiance squished a brown recluse (I know I spelled that wrong) and all her little spider babies came pouring out and we had to start stomping on the floor rapidly to kill them!

I would either squish it or let it go. And I would also talk to your pedi about what you should look for on LO incase she was bit.

  • @kellenhi21 The centipede picture reminds me of the AWFUL, PAINFUL, HUGE centipedes in Hawaii!  YUCK!
  • I'm obviously in the minority. I don't understand why people are scared of or grossed out by spiders. They eat lots if bugs, so they're good to have around IMO!
  • But but aren't wolf spiders the ones that eat flies?? ^^^ cares too much about spider feelings^^^

All Spiders eat other insects.  That is another reason why I rescue and not squish.

    What. The. Shit.

They're poisonous so we didn't want to try and catch her and risk getting bitten...but we also didn't realize her babies would scatter everywhere. Maybe if we had known that we wouldn't have squished her? Not sure lol.

Don't get me wrong, I would have squished her too.  But the fact that this is a real thing horrifies me.

Oh I don't blame you! Spiders don't bother me at all unless they're poisonous. I had no idea what it was when I first saw it and I called my fiance over "there's this huge spider under the table! !!" He thought I was exaggerating until he saw it! And then he freaked out and told me what it was and that it's poisonous....then I started freaking out lol....now I am paranoid about them.

  • I'm not saying, I'm just saying... Spiders can carry like a million times their weight, can't they? This thing wants to take your LO back to its cave.

I laughed so hard at this. Awesome!
  • DH came home and flushed him. He didn't go without a fight. The biologist in says I should know better but the child who had a bad spider bite in me says hell no.
