Bed time

Robert's bedtime has been 7:30-8 for the last several months. I usually still have to wake him up for day care at 7, or else he gets up around 7:30-8 on his own, sometimes later. Since I have taken his pacifier away about a week ago, he only cries a little bit when I put him to bed, but he now plays in his crib for the next 30 minutes to an hour. I really don't want to put him to bed later than 8 so I can have my me time, but is that mean when he clearly is still wide awake? Or maybe he needs to find another way to soothe himself to sleep since he doesn't have a pacifier anymore. 8:00 seems like a reasonable bed time.

Re: Bed time

  • Dagny goes down around 7:45/8. She falls asleep right away but she sucks her fingers & strokes her blankie. He probably just needs to figure out another way to calm himself down to sleep. Does he like stuffed animals or have a lovey of some kind? Maybe something like that would help? I'm with you - I won't put Dagny to bed later than 8 because I need my "me" time!

  • Yes, he has his favorite blankie plus 2 stuffed animals, and his music jungle thingy that straps to the crib.
