Babies: 0 - 3 Months

We have a spitter.

Hi ladies. I have twin girls who will be 1 month tommorow. I'm currently pumping and bottle feeding. DD1 never spit up so this is new to us. Baby B within the last week has started spitting up after each feeding. She is our bigger twin and does eat significantly faster than her sister. We've tried slowing her down and giving her breaks but it still happens. It doesn't seem to bother her.

Any advice? We see the Pedi Monday so I'll bring it up with her.

Thanks.

Re: We have a spitter.

  • Agree with pp. If it's not bothering her she could just be a spitter with no reflux. Is she congested? I notice my DS is more of a spitter when he has a stuffy nose.

It's always good to ask the pedi but DS spit up constantly until he was about 11 months old. And I mean constantly. He was never in pain, gained weight and seemed fine otherwise so the pedi just figured that was just his thing. We took breaks during feedings and burped multiple times. We also did a lot of laundry.

    same here   lots of laundry.

Yes she is congested. She's been congested for about two weeks. Pedi checked her congestion at her two week appointment and wasn't concerned. Hopefully once the congestion gets better so will the spitup. Otherwise, we may have a "happy spitter".

    Thanks ladies.
