Bottle Rejection

She is mostly BF but gets one bottle a day (more if I want to have a cocktail prior to her going to bed which occurred during the holidays).  She has always been fine with it.  While the past week she has been rejecting the bottle.  I moved up to a faster nipple which has worked in the past and no go.  The only way she will drink it is out of a sippy cup which has a completely different nipple.  Anyone else having a similar issue?

Re: Bottle Rejection

  • My son refuses a bottle. He might take an ounce from a sippy on a good day and he will be 9 months in a few days. So you are not alone. You're lucky she is taking the cup well. Do you prefer she take the bottle over the cup? If so, keep trying. She may be going through a little phase.

  • Ava started in a new DC class yesterday. It was also her first day at DC in almost two weeks. She ate barely 4 oz from her bottle all day. Today she had less than 2. She'll chow down on soft foods and still nurses well. She is just refusing the bottle. She's currently on antibiotics for a double ear infection so I don't think it's strep, which was the reason she wouldn't eat last time we went through this. Other than possible transition issues, I'm at a loss. All i know is that it hurt to dump out the 9 oz of breast milk I thawed and she refused to eat.
