Portable DVD players..anyone looking for?

amazon has a deal on a dual set of DVD players, that either play the same or separate movies ( a lot dont ) and these ones also have a memory card reader  so you can view your photos if you use that kinda card...

I had these in my Amazon cart for a while and it's down from $200  to $89 right now ... so tempted  even though I am supposed to be being good.

  • I am looking for one. Too bad I don't have $90 right now. That is a great deal.

  • I'll keep my eye out for you guys ...but my needs are specific and I doubt they will have another deal on a dual with memory card slot that plays solo or together... :(  I might just bite the bullet and get it anyway..Tax refund is coming up,, I have a $25 gift card and  I worked my ass off last month so have overtime on my next check..

Ireally wanted to use it elsewhere, but this is probably not gonna be repeated anytime soon

Same boat here.  Shouldn't spend anymore money for a bit yet... BUT I am pondering what to get for Dd in the years to come to watch dvd's on.  We don't have cable here, but I want her to be able to watch a kids show now and again, without it always being on my laptop.  Portable dvd player would be great at some point.  I'm thinking that if I save up for quite a while, maybe I can get an ipad down the road....hmmm....

Are you looking for something portable or just something other than the laptop?if it's the latter, and you have a tv in the house, most TVs now let you hook your laptop right up to the tv so you don't have to watch a small screen. We watch a lot of stuff from Amazon Prime that way.

  • If you have a credit card that offers points towards items, check for a portable dvd player there.  That is how I got one for our boys last Christmas, cashed in points I had earned.  I really didn't need any of the fancy features, just something that would play a dvd.  We use it in the car on long trips and they will sit side by side to watch a movie on it at home when we are watching something else on the tv.  It has really come in handy in the past year because our Blu-ray remote was MIA (just located yesterday!!)  My husband figured out how to hook it up to our tv so we could watch dvds through it on our tv, too.

  • @Excited30, if you don't need it for the car, just around the house and such, you could just get one like this. DH has a much, much older version like this.

  • We bought one of those for the car for the same reason.. but  recently someone snapped the disk cover and even though we can get it on and off and it still works.. he also just recently managed to figure out if he tips it upside down he can also get the DVD's out haha .. many a time DH has arrived home to see the lid in one hand and DVD in the other.. luckily they were copies I burnt " just in case" lol

My lil flower is not very delicate...   but if your kid is .. these are definitely worth a look. He already knows how to turn it on and off, adjust the volume and how to skip tracks.. stop and start...  even though we didn't teach him any of that intentionally LOL
