Vaginal Pain... Thoughts?

I just moved to Japan, I haven't met my doctor yet (Jan. 7), and the clinic on base didn't give me an "on call" number for after hours. It's 11 pm on a Saturday, so I don't know what else to do.

The best way to describe the feeling I have is that I feel like I was kicked in my vagina. It's a dull pain that feels like it's just around the vaginal opening area. No abdominal pain or cramping. The ache doesn't really hurt, it's just uncomfortable. It doesn't ease with rest or change of position. It sort of throbs on cue with my footfalls when I'm walking.

Could anyone clue me in on what this could be? I've read about a few things but nothing seems to really match what I'm feeling.

I'm 18w3d.

Re: Vaginal Pain... Thoughts?

  • Sometimes baby can be on a nerve....that can be sharp or dull and continuous. It's hard bc there can be so many aches and pains with pregnancy.

  • I get those to but i just chalked it up to pregnancy aches.
  • Sounds pretty normal. I'm experiencing some pretty bad lightening vag today, with what feels like baby also karate kicking my cervix from time to time. I figure that as long as there's no blood or cramping, anything is pretty much "normal" by pregnancy standards.

  • Chances are those are just the aches and pains of pregnancy. I never had that pain in my first but in this pregnancy I've had it a few times. Sharp pain that lasts a few seconds. Maybe happening on and off throughout the day. Mention it when you see your new doctor. But that's probably all it is.
  • It's more noticeable after a lot of activity, so I think I may be trying to do too much. I will definitely mention it to my doctor. This morning it was not there, but after errands and some cleaning, it's back.
  • Lighting crotch. Its a real bitch.

  • Sounds like typical pregnancy pains. Could be RLP, could be general swelling and/or stretching, could just be pressure on a nerve or muscle.
