Post-Christmas Urge To Purge

There is so much STUFF in this house that I want to rent a dumpster and pitch it all! We'll not really, what I really want is to be super organized and clutter free. It doesn't help that we've been stuck inside all week because of the weather and I haven't figured out how to store all the toys LO received for Christmas (we didn't open everything, I put some away [unopened] for a rainy day) Our living area is small, so I need to be on top of this. Just me? Anyone else feeling twitchy to chuck stuff?

Re: Post-Christmas Urge To Purge

  • Omg I have been going crazy trying to get things together. The holidays destroyed our house! I've been working on it little by little each day but I feel like something else always comes up. I need a week alone in my house... a girl can dream. ;-)

  • I can't stand the clutter either. Honestly, I sell everything as soon as she outgrows it, but she is also going to be our one and only child so there's no point in everything sitting here gathering dust.
  • I got some big flat baskets that fir under our coffee table and keep his toys in there. Our house is really open concept s there's really no good "play area" where things are out of sight. We didn't go too overboard. Though, and luckily our parents didn't, either.

  • Absolutely! With our two boys and christmas, there is crap all over the place. I am losing it. But LO is sick and we are so tired from being up all night that it just keeps getting put off.

I have some baskets that fit under furniture, and they work really well for the smaller things. Items like the activity cube, push toy, etc, are a bit harder to find spots for. And it's just the clutter in general. The closets need to be cleaned out, clothing needs to be donated. There's a partial bottle of vodka on the sideboard, maybe I should start with that....
  • Oh heck yeah, I already did one pass through LO's bedroom two days after Christmas, bagging up outgrown clothes (for the ten billionth time), and getting rid of crap we don't need.

Round 2 commences this weekend, since we won't be leaving the house.

True. We have a zany zoo and jumparoo that just sit out. Also, R has just figured out how to thwart my organizational system:

As for the vodka, if you need some help disposing of it, I am available!
