I posted on a different board, but I thought I might be able to get some insight from high risk mommy to be's. Long story short, I do know I'll be considered a high risk pregnancy with having a mid 2nd trimester 'miscarriage' and currently being on Coumadin. Logically, I have no reason to think that I'm pregnant because I have Paragard IUD, have gotten periods(although not regular at all even 7 months postpartum), I have however began to feel pregnant, slight symptoms(never would have been able to tell with any of my pregnancies if I didn't keep track of my period) and all. I have taken a couple HPT's and all came back negative. Has anyone ever had any false negative hpt's because of your blood thinners or prior birth control? It's quite the long story, but after I lost my daughter at 20w4d, I don't exactly trust my OB and would prefer to only call and talk to them as a last resort.

I'm a high risk pregnancy as well and am on lovenox (blood thinners) because of my history of blood clots and a blood disorder and am 5w tomorrow. This is our 2nd pregnancy after a miscarriage in 11/2013, which wasn't attributed to the blood d/o - the lovenox is basically to save me from a stroke and the baby from miscarrying.
First, if you are trying to have a baby or not using protection, you need to talk to your OB - coumadin is NOT SAFE for a baby and can be dangerous. The only safe blood thinner when pregnant is lovenox shots, and so if you are TTC, please call your OB and ask to switch to lovenox. This can be very very dangerous if you are on coumadin for your baby - coumadin is a nasty drug and while lovenox is essentially the same, because it's an injection and not a pill, it doesn't cross with the placenta and is safe - coumadin will cross the placenta and can cause problems.
No blood thinner will effect a HPT. You could always call your Ob and ask to have an HCG drawn or go to the urgent care and they will do one as well.
