Lo screaming all night

We have fed, changed, held etc and lo is still screaming. She's about 2 weeks old and we have no idea what's wrong.

Re: Lo screaming all night

  • Swaddled? Sushed? Fever? Gas?

  • Everything the above said, but she could be going through a growth spurt. It's common at that age, try to offer her more food or to comfort suck.

  • Have you tried holding her in different positions? When my baby has been crying for no apparent reason, sometimes it's because of gas and holding him upright versus lying down makes a big difference. HTH!

  • Everything above plus be sure the room is really warm. I'm not sure where you live but the temp has majorly dropped where I am tonight and my LO is always more fussy when she gets cold (we have a sort of double swaddle for cold nights). She seems happiest when her room is between 73 and 75 degrees.
  • Mine has been up all night too... I swear he only has these bad nights when dh is working his 12 hr overnights...

  • I feel your pain, LO is having a growth spurt here too and even with all of the above it still took us from about 9 or 10 until after 1 to get him to stop freaking out, and that was after feeding non stop all day. *HUGS* hang in there!

  • Ugh he keeps kicking my section incision. 45 minutes of sleep all night is not cool, LO.

  • This is the first time my LO has given me any trouble with sleeping. She's been awake for the last 5hrs. I'm not sure if she threw up or if it was reflux or what, but she did it twice tonight while on my chest and SO's as well. We kept the lights off, so I'm not sure what it looked like but there were white bits. She takes the boob whenever offered and has fallen asleep a couple of times during, but wakes up about a min later with eyes wide awake. I've tried everything. I'm gonna check her temp in the morning jic.
Good luck to everyone else with babies making nights hard! Hope it gets better for you. My head hurts.

  • When my LO gets like this especially at night, the only thing that 1/2 way helps is laying down with her in my chest... I'm almost completely flat, just with my pillows and she is either laying on my boob or in between them. I feel like I heard/read that they really like to hear your heartbeat.

It's not fun when they're so fussy! Good luck!!!

  • All the things said above and I suggest a carrier if baby meets the size requirement. I put DD in the ergo if she can't be settled otherwise. She loves it and calms immediately.
