Sick and tired of vomiting

I just need to a smally pity party moment... I know we all are experiencing the pains of the end of pregnancy and many have it way worse than me but I am really sick and tired of vomiting every night! Its also not helping that nearly everyone I have seen for the first time in a while over the holidays is commenting on how much weight it looks like I have been loosing despite being 8 1/2 months pregnant. I know they don't mean it that way but those comments make me feel like I am failing this little girl.

Re: Sick and tired of vomiting

  • I am so sorry you are dealing with this! I can't imagine. You are not failing your daughter, this is not your fault. Easier to say this, but ignore those people. I hope you feel better soon and this stops.

  • I'm sorry people are saying things like that to you. My SIL has horrible nausea. She has two healthy girls and a boy on the way. She throws up at least once a day but her babies are fine. You are not failing your little girl at all. As long as she's growing and your doctor isn't coconcerned, don't worry about what people say.

  • No fun, It's bad enough to not feel well with "normal" pg pains, but vomiting is brutual.
  • I know how u feel. I've been throwing up since week 7 and I haven't gone one day since without throwing up. I hope you know that it isn't your fault, and you are not failing your daughter or yourself. On the bright side, we are almost there!!

  • Are you on any anti-emetics to help with nausea and vomiting?
  • I can not even imagine. I wish internet wishes were enough to make it stop for you. :( Are you able to take anything for it?

  • Thanks everyone for you support.  I was just at my wits end last night with it - up until 2:30am with this and had to be up for work today at 6:30am.  All pregnancy I have had maybe 2 months combined where I wasnt nauseaus or vomiting and actually felt hungry and able to eat.  Baby is growing fine and I know she will get what she needs to grow, I just miss being able to look at food and not debate whether or not it is worth it to risk eating.  As it is I know that if I eat dinner any later than 6pm I will most likely throw it all up that night and when I work until 5:00 and DH works until 6:30 it is really hard to eat early enough unless I just don't eat with him.

@peanutmuse - I tried zofran and tigan (the generic) and they did not work.  With DS I had this too every day of my last trimester.  They told me then it was from acid reflux so I take acid reducers twice a day plus tums as needed.  My body just seems to not tolerate having my stomach so smushed up from the baby and she has not dropped and probably wont (DS didn't drop even in labor - I started pushing when he was still at station -3).

@bensmommy518 -- Zofran does not work for me either, so I can sympathize with that. That was what they tried for me at first. However, Phenergan has been working for me. I was having trouble because of the pain meds but also I was waking up in the middle of the night and throwing up the acid reflux. Ever since I've been on the Phenergan regularly, the puking has stopped. I'm not going to lie, the nausea still creeps in every now and then, but I am able to at least stop puking.

ETA: I am also carrying very high, so I assumed that that was causing part of the problem too. It definitely affects how much I can eat and how well I can breathe.
  • @peanutmuse I am glad the Phenergan is working for you and you are not dealing to vomiting on top of everything else anymore.  I am supposed to have an appointment tomorrow morning - we will see with the snow - so I will ask about that then.  It really sucks having the baby so high but we only have a little more time.  That has become my new mantra "just a few more weeks"

  • Oh I hate this for you! Nausea and vomiting is the worst. I have zofran to take when mine gets really rough. At this point for me (39 wks) I guess it is a combo of anxiety, pressure on my stomach, and reflux. I sure hope it clears up for you or your sweet LO comes soon!
  • Oh man - that's really tough! That sucks that you can't get any relief from this! And just ignore the comments - people say the stupidest things, only you and your doctor have all the information about how well your LO is doing and everyone else who comments ignorantly should go mind their own business. You're right - just a few more weeks: hang in there!

  • I just threw up (again) and saw this thread. I had terrible morning sickness through the first 12 weeks and then it stopped cold until Christmas Day. Now I've been throwing up again and have lost 2 pounds in 1 week. I know LO is healthy and doing well, but man does it suck! Just wanted to say I'm sorry and I feel your pain.

  • I was the same way until about a week ago, couldn't even roll over in bed without being sick. The baby dropping has made a huge difference. I still can't eat a big meal or anything, but I just feel a lot less pressure on my tummy. Good luck, you are nearly there!
