Has this happened to anyone else? And if so what was your outcome?
I'm a planner. Hubby and I both are. So we want to know what the baby is. It's our first and we mostly went in because I wanted to see the baby on my birthday. We went in for a friend to do an ultrasound on me (she's an OB/GYN resident). She used a crappy small machine, but she couldn't tell what we are having. We thought we saw boy parts, but we just couldn't tell. When an actual technician came in the baby had its legs pretty much together and a foot, hand and cord were all in that area. The tech said she's leaning towards girl. But my friend and 2 other residents were leaning towards boy. But no one saw definite boy or girl parts.
I'm curious if this happened to anyone else. And if it did what did you end up having (besides a stubborn child, haha)?

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
Ditto all the PPs who have said 16 weeks is still early and since you have an a/s scheduled, you'll probably get a more definitive answer then.
My a/s is not for another 7 weeks when I will be 22 weeks along. It sucks to wait, but I also think they'll have a better chance of determining the sex correctly by waiting a bit longer (assuming baby cooperates).
If you have another scan in a few weeks, chances are you will have a more certain prediction. A friend swears by drinking a mountain dew before her ultrasounds. I am pretty much caffeine-free, so not considering it, but it worked nicely for her.
