Travel stroller WWYD

We are going to Vegas with DD at the end of the month. Yay (and terrified to travel with her)! We bought a seat for her on the plane and are going to bring her bucket seat for her to sit in. However I'm not sure which stroller I should take. I have a city mini GT which I love and a snap n go which works, but is a hand me down x2, so it's a little rickety. I don't have the car seat adapter for the city mini, so if we took it we would also need to carry the infant bucket through the airport. Even buying the adapter used it would be at least $40. But pushing the city mini all day would probably be a lot nicer then the snap n go. WWYD? 1. Take the snap n go. 2. Take the city mini and carry the cars seat through the airport. 3. Buy the car seat adapter.

  • Buy the adapter. I've lugged a car seat through the airport without an adapter with ds1 and it is a huge pain. I actually had a city mini at the time too. It doesn't seem like a big deal but it gets heavy.

  • I definitely would take the city mini. We pushed LO around the airport in his city mini then checked it on the plane. You can get your DH to put the diaper bag/carry-on in the car seat and carry it? He is going right? I'm cheap and wouldn't buy the adapter.

I personally would buy an umbrella stroller and bring the bucket. I recently vacationed and was scared my city mini would be wrecked or stolen (while on the beach in my case). So I bought a first years ignite stroller on sale at Canadian tire. It worked great on our trip for us.

Edit: but if you decide not to carry the bucket I would buy an adapter for your city mini because I would lose my mind if I had to use my snap and go for long periods of time ;)
  • We have a City mini. My LO is pretty small, maybe 16 lbs. and she just started sitting up in the stroller by herself. It was NBD. It even reclines, so she can nap comfortably. She loves to look around. Is there a reason why you'd want to keep her in the bucket? image

@mufflerlove that's what one of my friends suggested, but I made a big deal about buying an expensive stroller because we'd get so much use out of it so I'm trying to avoid buying another stroller, at least for now....

@nix55 I use the city mini all the time, but we need to cary the bucket through the airport so DD can sit in it on the plane. Snapping it into a stroller would be a lot more convenient then carrying it and pushing a stroller.

  • Gotcha. Ya, I'd just buy the adaptor.
