No more baby food!

My little guy is down right refusing any purée baby food. Sometimes, I can get him to eat apple sauce or yogurt. We've done chicken bites, steamed carrots, whole wheat penne noodles, cheese, and apples with moderate success.

His pincher grasp is emerging. I've been practicing more and more with him using Cheerios and puffs. He does much better with stick like sizes.

Reccs for some nutritious foods I can try? He loves puffs and the crunchies....again I don't think these are that great for him.

  • Mine is not a fan of purées at all either. We do steamed chunks of carrot, zucchini, squash, etc He loves that he can feed it to himself, and it's soft enough to bite (only one tooth!). Even before he got his tooth, he had no problems munching. He also likes scrambled eggs, raw cucumbers and melon.

  • We do broccoli, pears in small squares or "fries," baked sweet potato mashed or cut into squares, whole wheat toast...

  • Connor eats anything I am eating, granted if it is healthy. If not then I usually give him some steamed veggies.

They don't need teeth to eat solids, don't worry :-) We have given Rhys pretty much every fruit and vegetable. Cut into sticks if possible. We give him asparagus, broccoli, and green beans whole. He will hold them and gnaw on them. we give him slices of fruit.... Blueberries we cut in half or quarters and grapes be sure to cut up. Rhys also loves shredded chicken, small pieces of ham, yogurt mixed with fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, shredded cheese, brown rice, black beans... I gave him some of our Mexican casserole the other night and he loved it. Just try to avoid salt!
