Where are you sleeping/csection?

Where are you sleeping post csection? I am 1 week 4 days post csection and sleeping on the couch downstairs. I can't wait to move back upstairs and sleep in my own bed! I tried it yesterday but it was too hard to lay down and get in and out of. I am hoping to be back in my bedroom soon and get some sense of normalcy back. My dr told me to only go upstairs once per day to shower but i am not sure for how long.

Re: Where are you sleeping/csection?

  • I slept 2 nights after the hospital on the couch and then moved upstairs to my bed. I had DH help with getting in and out if bed and the stairs. If he hadn't been as helpful I would have spent a longer time sleeping on the couch but I felt much more rested sleeping in our bed.
You really have to listen to your body if it painful or exhausting don't push it and stay on top of your pain meds.

  • I slept in bed upstairs from the get go, but after my shower came down for the day and only went up for bed.
Napped and sat downstairs. Baby stayed on H's side at night and he'd pass her to me for feedings.
It gets better. Just take care of yourself. You know your body and when it feels tired or overworked.

  • On the couch. I used the cushions to pull up on.
  • 2 weeks post c section I have been sleeping in the bed but the last 2 days I haven't had to use a lot of pillows and can sleep on my side

  • I tied a rope to the footboard of the bed to help me sit up and get in/out if bed so that I could be in my own bed. I did stairs 4 days PP and had no issues with stairs at 2 weeks PP.

  • I'm two weeks post c-section and sleep anywhere I can lay on myside and partially on my tummy. The pain will get better I actually stoped needing help getting up by the first week, hope you feel better really soon!

  • I slept in my bed from day 1 home but DH had to take the frame off so the bed is just sitting on the floor. I couldnt get in with how high it was with the frame. DH also had to help me in and out for about the first 2 weeks.

Now at 3 weeks pp i can get in and out by myself without screaming in pain, but it does still hurt a little, and the bed is still on the floor.
  • My first c-section I slept in bed 6 days PP this time I was in a bed in NICU parent room 3 days PP. I'm now 4 weeks PP and I can sleep anywhere.

  • I'm 4 weeks PP and sleep in my bed, and have from day 1 home. We don't have stairs but my bed is high so it was a little tough. Keep trying, the more you try the easier it gets.
  • I slept in my bed as soon as I got home... DH helped a bit, but I figured out how to position my arms right to push myself up... Now I might as well be jumping in and out of the bed :-) it gets better, just don't push yourself too much!

  • I slept in my bed as soon as I got home.  It was difficult to find a comfortable position at first but it got easier each night.  Now I can sleep and get up with no problems.  I am 2.5 weeks PP.

  • I slept in the recliner in the nursery for the first week we were home. It was the only place that was comfortable bc I wasn't flat.
  • With my first I had to sleep in a recliner for the first week and have someone help me in and out of it. This time I was in better shape so I was able to sleep in bed from the beginning with tons of couch cushions propping me up. It was the best day evar when I could finally sleep on my side/tummy again!

  • Been in my bed since we came home from the hospital, but I don't have stairs to deal with, and I have a boatload of pillows to stay propped up with. I also make DH sleep on the couch because I take up more room right now.

It's a little harder to get in and out of bed in the mornings, and I still can't lay on my sides at 3 weeks 4 days PP but its much more comfy than the couch for sure.
    NOPE.
