NMR: mealtime help!

LO's are 18 months and are pretty good eaters however we are going through the "picky" phase where they won't eat anything. Pretty much if its carbs (pasta, bread, crackers, pancakes), they will eat it but that's about it. They used to LOVE meats and fish but wont touch them now. And all of my "go to's" (pb&j, grilled cheese, toast etc) they are starting to get sick of, understandably so. Does anyone have any suggestions for meal time ideas that I can get them to eat?? TIA.

  • We eat pita bread pizzas, hummus, avocado, bananas, grapes cut in half, nitrate-free hot dogs, spinach omelets, scrambled eggs, melon, ravioli cut in quarters (only one will eat this), gnocchi, yogurt in pouches. But they are definitely being more picky than before, and one tends to fling his plate across the room if I serve things he doesn't like right then, ha.

  • Greek yogurt is a good protein source if you can't get meats in, and was recommended by DS's dietician. Good fats in it too!

  • I second the Greek yogurt. Good protein and lots of different flavors you can try. Beef or cheese ravioli or tortellini may also work for you if they like pasta. Good luck!

  • Thanks fir the ideas ladies. I always give them yogurt for breakfast so I try not to overdo it at other meals also but maybe I should sneak in more at lunch and/or dinner too! I'm going to try being a little creative with a new recipe for breakfast, fingers crossed. I tried nitrate free, all natural hot dogs for dinner tonight for the first time and that was a big flop too. These little buggers are killing me lol!
