  • I voted unsure but I am about 90% sure about being one and done.

  • I put actively trying though we are actively talking about trying and will probably stop trying to prevent it in a couple months. Ideally aiming for a Jan or Feb '15 baby, but we may get Impatient and try sooner.

  • I put done. However, when dh had a lot to drink on nye he told a friend he would like another in the future. Sober dh does not remember or agree. His resolve to be done helps me with mine. I know we can't afford another so I'm sure I'm done but I can't say I wouldn't like another if we could.

  • AF never returned for me and I'm currently pregnant. So you never know, it could happen.

  • I voted unsure because we are trying to decide if we are one and done or not.

  • I put TTC in 18-24 months. I say I'd like to wait till DD is 3 or 4 but I don't know if I'll hold out that long. But I would really like to have at least 2.5 years in between kids.

So many people I know are pregnant so it's easy to catch baby fever (and my husband would love me to pop babies out in one fell swoop) but realistically it's not a good time. I want to finish grad school, get a job and have DD be more independent. I also plan on just enjoying her for a while too.

  • I said 6-12 but 12-18 is still a possibility.  I feel like my girl is still so little and I'm not sure that I can handle two babies at a time.

  • Glutton for punishment perhaps, but I'll start the weaning process this spring/summer (post-flu season and when DD2 decides to actually eat, you know, some solids?) -- which not only will take a while, but I suspect it will take even LONGER for AF to return. If at all. DH and I have discussed that we are willing to not actively prevent at that stage -- but given my history, I suspect we'll likely be contacting the RE come 2015 if we're ready to more aggressively pursue. Praying and PRAYING we won't need to -- cautiously optimistic that the pregnancy and not working out nearly as often as before will kick my body back into normal ovulation. Even then, I'll be going the high-risk route -- so it's not something we can just "decide" to do like normal people, sadly!

I'm so not prepared to go the IF route again -- and would seriously need to consider IVF, given I do NOT want a second set of twins -- both for everyone's health (given the way pregnancy #1 transpired), and the fact that I sure as heck am not in this for four kiddos. Yikes.

  • Currently pregnant. We had gone through IF with DD so we decided to NNT and I found out I was expecting in December. The LO's will be 20 months apart.
    Congrats, @ungraceful13! :-)

We would both like another, but I would like to wean DS before I become pregnant. I used to want to tandem nurse, but I now want DS to start STTN before we conceive. He is waking up every hour after 4. It's too much.

  • I put 6-12 months before TTC.  Right now we are not trying but not preventing.  I think within the next year we will be ready to actively start trying for number 2.

  • We are on the fence about being OAD. I logically want a sibling for DD but cannot fathom less sleep and loving another little person at this point. She its my world and I want time with her first. My DH is even more in the fence. My guess is she will be at least two before we would ever try again.

I voted OAD even though sometimes I hop on the fence about it. If we changed our minds I would not want another until DS is in kindergarten (or very close to it).
This is us too, I think if we have another one I want DD to be able to manage well on her own and have school so I can give a second LO as much attention as DD got at a newborn.
  • Considering DS just started sleeping through the night, I need at least one year of "good" sleep.  Bravo to you ladies who are brave enough to start again, I need more time.

I don't want to remember what good sleep is and then lose it again, lol. I do miss sleeping through the night though.

This is one reason I'm not sure if DD will get a sibling, once I'm sleeping well and things are a lot easier... I'm not sure I'll want to re-do it all!
  • I voted TTC. AF has not returned (still nursing quite a bit since LO has a sensitive tummy and we have had to introduce solids very slowly or end up with horrible nights of gas pains and screaming/crying for long stretches). So, we are hoping to have another baby soon, but we shall see what nature says about that. :)

  • I am in-between actively TTC and planning to TTC.  Technically we were actively TTC but I had not had my first pp period.  That decided to come this past week.  Now DH decided he's not sure if he wants another one yet or not since DS has been a handful the past couple of days and thinking of paying for daycare.  I'm happy either way.  We're definitely having more.
Oh man that is what I am afraid will happen. That dh will put the kabosh on us ttc once my period actually comes back! Were your ebf? Weaning? If you don't mind my asking. :)
DS is on a nursing strike and just stopped wanting to nurse at all during the day or night. He had still been nursing up until that point. Since I stopped nursing at night, but pumping during the day, I guess it decided to come back. Are you ebf? Does your LO still nurse at night?
@jcar2 yes ebf. We dabbled in night weaning and were there for a week. The week following that I had wicked cramps. I thought for sure that kickstarted my ute into going back to work but nada. That was 3 weeks ago and I feel fine. Poas and negative. I know we are tots trying but still sucks to get a bfn. Then the night started getting hard and I may have fed once between 3am and 5am most nights. It sucks. I want to night wean, mainly because she is days from turning 1 and we are TIRED, not because I want to get pregnant. But then she is teething top 4 just finished coming in and now the side bottom 2. Grrrr. The other night I tried not feeding her and she literally screamed for 1 hour 30 min. Are you kidding me? Dh was done. I fed her. She went right to sleep. Last 2 nights she sttn 10pm to 5 or 6am. But tonight she went down at 830. I am NOT feeding her dang it. That may sound mean but obviously she is not hungry. It is for comfort. I am 100%. I just keep telling myself that it will all happen when it is supposed to. This may be weird but I feel selfish weaning more than just at night in order to ttc. I dunno.
Awwww. @brendamndz, I totally hear you! My little one has been adding night feeds for comfort rather than hunger. I would like to TTC but I can't imagine being pregnant with all of these night wake ups. I'm curious what will happen when he turns one and I start gradually weaning him from day nursing. Good luck to you.

  • We are actively trying :)  There is two years (almost exactly) between DS#1 and #2.  I love the age gap, but I would love to have 4 kids ultimately.  And I'd like to be done by 35.  Already really really pushing that age limit though if we want 2 more kids (I'll be 33 in March).  That being said, we weren't going to start trying until I lost all the weight from #2, which I've done plus another 10lbs, and we weren't going to try until after we'd gotten a solid 6 months of sleeping through the night.  Luckily DS#2 decided to start sleeping through the night at 4 1/2 months.  So now we are crossing our fingers and having some fun after the boys go to bed ;)
