yep and I have found they do nothing...only thing that seems to work is Advil which you can only give to older children so Tylenol for the younger babies.

  • My LO is teething at 12 weeks.. So it's tough, I'm looking for anything. She can't hold a teething ring, and all I can give her is Tylenol.
  • Teething tablets worked for my first LO. They do not completely alleviate their problems, but they can help.  I even ate a couple prior to giving them to her.  They just numb your mouth.  Her pedi at the time stated they could not recommend them due to not being regulated by the FDA.  It's more herbal.  He had used them on his kids though.
Giving LO a clean wet baby bathcloth from the fridge helps too.  LO liked chewing on it.  Other than tylenol, it's a waiting game.
  • They work for us.
  • not sure which ones you are using but I put the hylands tablets in my mouth and they did absolutely nothing.

no not teething...but I figured I would TRY something myself before putting it my childs mouth.  I wanted to see if they really worked so I did put them in my mouth and there was no numbing affect.

  • They don't numb, it's more meant to calm them down. It works for us.
  • Yup. They don't numb. The opium in them calms them.
  • I did try them in combination with tylenol. he seemed less crabby that day, but his brother was the exact same. I'm chalking it up to John being in a good mood that day lol

  • The tablets worked better for us, because LO hated the gel being rubbed on her gums.  I don't think she liked the taste or how it felt either.  My second may be totally opposite.
  • You can give Children's Advil to babies as long as they meet the weight requirements on the label. My 3.5mo is teething and he gets 1.25ml. You give babies medication based on their weight, not their age.
  • Infant Motrin is infinitely better than Tylenol in our experience. Walgreens has it
  • Haven't tried them, but we use Gumomile (a clove oil blend) if you're looking for something natural. It works really well! You can order it from Amazon.
