@KEfam5, OMG, it was so much fun! My DH and my good friend Bee are always talking trash about how they can outcook the other, so Bee's husband and I picked the ingredients.
Because they already knew they were working with a whole chicken (because we couldn't find something sort of exotic and crazy with such short notice), we gave them the following to work with:
-Plain Greek yogurt -Cream soda -Lemons -Gummy bears
So, basically, I got to be the smart ass in the kitchen with the timer, making comments like the judges. My husband was chopping up stuff and I was like, "Chef J is showing off some impressive knife-work in the kitchen. I hope it pays off for him," and I was running around taking pictures of them while they were working.
They had 30 minutes to cook a dish, and the food was actually edible! My husband made a chicken breast with a lemony, spice rub, then drizzled with a cream soda and gummy bear reduction glaze-sauce sorta deal, and it was just a bit too sweet. He also did mashed potatoes with the greek yogurt and sour cream, but all you could taste was the yogurt. He lost. Haha! Bee made a lemon chicken breast that she cooked up with bacon and eggs - like a breakfast dish? - and then did grilled, seasoned potatoes that had a sauce that consisted of the Greek yogurt, melted gummy bears, cream soda, and ketchup. Shockingly, hers won.
