My daughter was on a great schedule and now it seems she wants to change it on me...i was wanting to know some other schedules people keep for their 5-6 month olds

Schedules constantly change with babies. Are you wanting a napping schedule or a feeding schedule?

  • Both please...

I just go with the flow. He usually takes 3-4 naps a day and eat every 2.5-3 hours. He usually goes to sleep around 8pm, wakes up all night but for good around 8am. Sometimes he naps more.

Well our schedule before this week was wake up anywhere between 6 and 7 am then first nap is an hour after waking up so usually 730 to 1030 then eat and diaper change and about 130 another feeding and nap until about 430 then stays up until bath and feeding at 730 (about two more feedings between 430 and 730) and she usually sleeps through the night until this last week when she favors about 530am

Congrats? I'm not sure what you're really looking for here? Was it applause that you used to be on a schedule and now you're not? Was it a request for a suggestion about how to get back on that schedule? I don't think there are any at this age. They tell you when they want to eat, so if it's 5:30 instead of 6:30, so be it. Maybe it's a growth spurt? Maybe she didn't get enough of the fatty hind milk while nursing at night. Sure, one week we'll be on one "schedule." the next she will change it on me all over again. I think that's just the way it is for now.
  • Umm no im not looking for applause or anything i just thought maybe at a certain age they start needing less nap time or something...i wasnt sure. I figured it out though...thanks for all your help.
  • My baby will be 5 months on the 16th and I have just made an adjustment to his schedule due to his natural wake up time and when he is most tired in the evening. He wakes up at 7:30 and eats and then eats every four hours. Night time feeding around 6:45/7 and asleep for the night at 7:30. Nap times at 9/9:30-11 and 1:30-3:30. Tonight he dozed in his swing for 20 minutes. I have had him on a routine since 2 weeks and make adjustments as he gets older and based on his cues. We are flexible to his constant changes but the framework works great for our household.
  • We just follow DD's cues. If she's giving us signs she's tired, we try our best to help her sleep (she loves to fight this during the day). If she's fussy or it's been 3 hours since she's eaten, we feed her. She goes to bed anywhere between 6:30 and 8, depending on when she starts acting tired and wakes up for the day between 6 and 7. Sometimes she takes 2 naps if they're good, 3 naps if they're restless.
