I'll add- I'm going into the doctor soon to get checked because I've been having constant lower back pain/menstrual type cramps. Hoping everything is okay, but I will probably be sent to L&D to get monitored.
@JoyBaby5 e-mail me and let me know how everything goes!!!!!! I hope everything is ok.
Also, T&P to all the mommas in L&D and all mommas with outside babies.
I was thinking the same thing! Confession time: I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon, so before I left the house I made sure my hospital bag was all packed...just in case! Lol I'm ridiculous.

My mom told me I'm crazy for not having mine ready yet (at 35w). My mom is a planner, though. I also have a dr appt this afternoon, so once I actually get out of bed, I may just get packin'!

Our Angel was born sleeping at 20 weeks due to IC.
My client asked me today on a call if my bag was packed yet....when I told the other half earlier he got down on his knees, put his hands on bump and said "The carpet is being laid on the 13th - stay put til then at least please"
Sorry I may sound off and get flamed for this but I don't think this post is needed especially at a point when many here are are dealing with health issues.
As car seat said our bodies are not dependent on others going in labor and stressing out because someone else or two went into labor will not help us especially those at high risk. I don't even know how many members are on f14 and honestly if we take a % of those that have experienced PTL this it's sort of expected so it's nothing to start to freak.
I think I rather concentrate on supporting those that did go into PTL and really want their babies to be healthy- that's all.

What exactly was unsupportive here? I'm confused... ?

Ladies that's not what I'm saying- but honestly really? Legs crossed kind of comments? There was a post earlier by someone on how they feel let down by their body due to early PTL/induction expected and here you are all kinda making a post about oh we woke up to 4 people in labour and what's going on etc. instead of concentrating that the LOs are healthy and that's all that matters. Think about those particularly high risk reading this and freaking out?
You ladies are super supportive and I really adore this group but all I am saying a post like this that highlights those who've gone into labor is not needed. Again, just stating my opinion on how I felt about the post- if you don't agree I'll politely back off as I may be the odd one here.

I'M HIGH RISK for PTL and this didn't cause me to bat an eye.
Really this post is highlighting that we do have a lot if mamas in l&d right now and (IMO) draws even more support their way.
I'm not sure how this thread correlates to making anyone feel bad about their body 'letting' them down by going into ptl.
No offense but I do believe you are the odd one out here. I'm in no way offended. We're all wondering why we have so many facing issues right now and all of us are offering as much support as we can. There's nothing negative here.

Sorry if anyone took this post the wrong way. It was meant to be a funny version of "I hope everyone's babies keep cooking", (as well as just general amazement at the number of people in L&D right now) but apparently it came off wrong to some people.
I was just thinking last night it was nuts how many of our girls were in L&D. Of course I wake up with several BH contractions and cramping . Thank goodness I was able to guzzle water and they backed off, because I was starting to get really nervous that we don't even have the crib or anything for the baby to sleep in yet.
I'm crossing my fingers and legs this one stays in until at least Jan. 12; the last of the baby essentials will be here by then and my new insurance kicks in!
I am on strict bed rest and meds due ti PTL and I got a good laugh out of this post and no comments made me feel like ladies didn't care.
As I mentioned earlier, the crapoy posts were the "I dont give a fuck about your labor or baby unless you are a regular poster..."
Man, you're REALLY stuck on that aren't you. FWIW I stand by what I said and don't feel bad for not caring about a stranger in L&D but if you do then that's perfectly fine by me. To each their own. @dunvilles
Also, @Hg45 I completely understand where you're coming from. There are some women here in L&D or who have been in L&D recently that probably don't find "keep your legs closed" funny because their experiences have been scary. While I'm sure the OP meant it in fun sometimes you don't see how it might be insensitive for someone actually going through the ordeal.
Yeah, I am team @Hg45 too. When I first read the OP I understood she was trying to be humorous, but calling it an "epidemic" rubbed me the wrong way -- maybe I'm overly sensitive, but I just didn't like that word in reference to our LOs and their arrival into the world. I guess it seemed like a lot of labors happening all at once, but as pp said, it's more than likely a realistic representation as far as % and the # of posters here. Anyway I don't think OP meant any harm of course; it was just unnecessarily crass in light of the sensitive nature of PTL worry for many ladies here (myself included).
There was a time a few months ago when three F14s experienced late losses within a very short time. Someone started a thread that was like "all these losses are so upsetting to me, I hate seeing these posts." Instead of focusing on supporting those women through such a difficult time, the post became more about the OP and *her* feelings.
I know that pregnancy loss and PTL are not the same thing, but that's what this post reminded me of - people taking someone else's scary experiences and making it about themselves.
Stuck in the quote box... but STOP READING MY MIND!
Last night I was in l&d last night with contractions so bad that I could not even walk. I
I know that. I'm really confused about how a massage (what massage) in L&D caused the contractions... When you WENT to L&D for contractions... so they'd already started.
I know last night I was sleeping then bam contractions. My friend thinks is because of the massage you get when you get to l&d lol
what?
I was in l&d last night and when my friend came to get DD the nurse was telling me that if I wanted they have a LMT that comes down to give admits an hour massage. As crazy as that sounds this is a new Hosp they think the more you relax the less you contract. I hope that explains everything

So your friend thinks the massage helped stop your contractions?
Still not relevant to the thread, at all, but it does help a lot when you elaborate!

I've never heard of massage therapy in L&D but personally if I am having contractions especially PTL- a massage is the last thing on my mind unless there is scientific proof presented that it helps calm contractions. Sounds weird to me but I do hope it helped you as that part is still confusing.

Nope. Still lost.
Lol I still have no idea what it means but at least I know where the mention of a massage came from. I thought she was using it as a euphemism for a cervical exam.
My thoughts exactly. And let's be honest, just because someone's hand is causing pressure, certainly doesn't make a cervical exam a massage!
Again sorry my post caused confusion. I just erased it.
I'm sorry my post caused such confusion I am sorry I just tried to erase it anyone that has seen my posts know that I try to offer support and feel feel terrible that my post made people upset.

Your post didn't upset anyone, it was just unclear.
I find many of your posts a bit confusing because you tend to use only one or two sentences to describe something complex. It's easy to do, just remember we don't know you personally or exactly what you're thinking so expanding more is okay and helpful!
You've been here a long time and I know haven't always had an easy time with this pregnancy. We want to be able to support you.
I've been at the hospital for almost two days now. I went into early labour just before we rang in the new year and I've been admitted to the high risk unit since yesterday morning.
I'm not here because other people went into labour. I'm here because I did. A lot of responses to this post are ridiculous, but completely predictable.
This thread makes as much sense as the ones in first tri freaking out about all the miscarriages.
And no, I don't give a flying fuck about people who never post here coming in to announce their babies. Good for them, but why would anyone care? Does everyone think that Allie is jumping up and down to congratulate you when your time comes?
-------- Oh no love! ((((Car)))) I hope you and the bears are doing alright, and that they are able to cook a little longer. Please make sure you update us whenever you can. :x
As for this thread....yeah. I understand that whoever started it (don't care enough to look) meant well, but like the pp said, it's just like the miscarriage posts. I wasn't necessarily offended, but I felt out of place commenting and slightly uncomfortable bc I recently posted about a PTL scare.
And umm...why would I care that someone I don't know had a baby? I'm confused. I congratulate them but... I really don't care. (Sorry thought this posted an hour ago. Ugh)

@Hg45 how do you feel about the UO posts that say "I don't give a fuck about you going into labor if you aren't a regular poster"....
Many posts on this board aren't "needed" and I was thinking exactly what OP said in this post, as many others were by the responses on here.
