I'm ok with the amount of TV DS1 is watching when he's home with me because I can catnap in the morning. I also look forward to the 2 days per week when he's at daycare. Parenting 2 kids on little sleep is hard!
I think this is unpopular because I've seen it quite a bit: It annoys me when people say, "My baby is jaundice." No, your baby HAS jaundice or IS jaundiceD, but your baby cannot BE jaundice, as that is the name of the condition, not the adjective. (Like, your baby can have, but cannot BE chicken pox or the flu.) And while I'm at it, reflux =/= reflex.
This is a recycled UO (also could be FFFC) but IDGAF and I need to say something NBR. I like reality TV and am excited for Bachelor/American Idol etc.
I also love reality tv, it's bad! This is totally insane but my good friend since I was in first grade is on the Bachelor! I haven't watched the show in years, but obviously watching now. She's having viewing parties every week when they are on. She's Alli from Chicago, in the promo she's the one who says "ay, ay, ay!" And she says Juan Pablo had no personality! Haha!

That's crazy about your friend! Boo about no personality...now I have the sads

I only don't like them when the umbilical stump is showing. It's very easy to hide that, and when the photographer makes no effort to hide it, it always becomes the focus of the picture. Ew.
1. my mom doesn't like the naked newborn pictures either, and I had no idea. She wouldn't take any of Benjamin because 'her friends don't need to see his naked body' haha.
2. I don't get why people get so worked up when their family says 'my baby.' I mean it's a little possessive, I guess, but most of them are probably just really excited about the baby. Unless their actions are crazy possessive I just don't get what the harm is.
@KFED103 I know, it's crazy all the stuff she told us about the show and she said it was like pulling teeth to talk to him.
Ohh tell me more I know when the show first started there was a glitch and it showed cards that the producer was holding so the ladies knew what to say. I've always wondered is this really real? I'm not a fan of Juan and I want to be a fan so I'll get into the bachelor this year. Lol. On the plus Catherine and Sean get married on tv the 24th I believe.
More of a rant, I am going to junk punch the next person who tells me to 'enjoy this time.' ORLY? Enjoy the GERD/reflux, sleepless nights, mastitis, pp bleeding that just will.not.end? GTFO OF MY LYFE!! So UO - I don't like the newborn stage.
1. I don't get why people wake their husbands during night feedings. If the baby is breast fed, do they really need to get up and watch you do it? Burping and diaper changes take like 2-5 minutes. I completely understand waking them to help with a fussy baby but normal night feedings, let him sleep. DH stays up later with Henry and gets up earlier with the big kids but I take care of the middle of the night stuff.
2. I like how supportive this board has become but sometimes I feel like I have nothing to add because i love the newborn stage and I enjoy breast feeding.

Man, I would love to hear all the behind the scenes secrets. I bet she has some great stories!
I agree!!! I think it needs its own thread though.
Haha ya I don't want to blow up this thread with it but I'll tell you one thing. So you know how he will take one girl and talk to her..well they only get 6-8 minutes, the producers tell the ladies they need to make it juicy or talk about deep/serious things because that's what keeps ratings up. Then when you think one of the girls is being a bitch and comes up to steal him away and talk to him, it's the producers making them do that. My friend was like it sucked doing that, I looked like a bitch and that's not me.

This exactly!
Also I want to add that I don't think that it's a big if DH/SO doesn't change diapers as long as he contributes in other ways. I can count on one hand how many of DS's diapers he has changed and it really doesn't bother me at all. DH spends so much time playing and caring for DS in other ways that this is just not a big deal to me.

@KateVA I completely agree about DH getting up at night seriously... What's the point? I BF and change his diaper between sides. He gets up in the morning with DS1 and let's DS2 and I relax in the bed and extra hour before he gets busy with work.
I also almost feel bad contributing in the bf posts because I've been lucky.
@KateVA I agree too. Why make both of us exhausted and miserable?? I don't see breastfeeding at night as a punishment, just something necessary to do for a while.
The breastfeeding posts I can somewhat commiserate with though because I do sort of remember how difficult it was with my first. Luckily my nips have little to no feeling left and I'm much more experienced so breastfeeding my 2nd 2 kids has been much easier.

Well, for us personally my husband gets up so that I can get some sleep. He worries about my PPD returning and as he says "It's his child too, he is supposed to be helping." We rotate, so we're not both up, that would be stupid and serve no purpose.
Besides there being no point, I don't want my husband getting up in the middle of the night. This way he has ALL his energy for the long Hunny-Do list I have ready for him when he gets home. Those dishes won't do themselves!

I hate celebrity after pregnancy photos. They come out with them about 2 days after giving birth and it keeps recycling gross ideas about expectations for and valuation of women.

I also didn't understand this until I got/get pissed when my MIL says this. It's because she is the crazy possessive grandparent.

I could care less when I hear someone sAy that. Unless it's my MIL. When she says it my skin starts to crawl
